darling town, epscially up the hill above the property near the Pope's summer residence.. cute streets with a darling piazza and numerous shops, bars, and nice restuarants... one overlooks the lake .. service was wnderful in each place we eate....
would love to come again.. just need to know more about the town and info on how to naviigate (drive) down to and accesws the beaches at the lake... .

Nice place with fantastic views and Castel Gandolfo is a world away from Rome, a perfect escape to the hustle and bustle of the city! Very nice staff that was very helpful! Nice restaurants and a great relaxed atmosphere with everything in walking distance. The Pope's summer residence is like 5 minutes away and a wonderful little excursion. The Lake is gorgeous and sunsets as well as sunrises are magical!

Castel Gandolfo is a lovely small hill town on the outskirts of Rome, accessible by train. The Pope thinks so too as he has his summer palace there. Our accommodation at the Atlantis Inn was spacious with a full range of facilities. The view from our room and terrace over the lake was amazing. The town has a very good range of cafes, reataurants and bars to enjoy. The locals were friendly and we enjoyed a relaxing stay, winding down after a full on seven week holiday in Europe.

A lovely atmospheric little place, good bars and restaurants and some pleasant little local shops and craftspeople. Wonderful views. You can visit the Papal Palace and Gardens as well as the Art Gallery and Museum of Art.

Nice place to stay out of Rome, but not too far (about 40 min by car to the centre). Close to nature, Albano lake is within the half an hour walk down the hill. There is access to the beach with a restaurant and a bar (and a parking lot) where you can rent a chair. Parking can be little tricky in this town with narrow streets. Some wide cars might not fit the most narrow streets which are also one-way.
Ciampino airport is 25 min away by car. Also reachable by train

The best one in Castel Gandolfo, the location was perfect, the flat was extremely clean and there was everything we need, many choices for the breakfast, milk and suprisely prosecco in the fridge..🤗 Also the best view in the village, and the owner Simona helped us for the easy check-in and meet us at the check-out. Great location in the centre of Castel Gandolfo. Short walk to the free car parking. Host was great, we arrived early and it started to rain so she gave us the lockbox code and we went into the apartment and waited for her to arrive for the formal checkin. The apartment is very nice indeed.
Brilliant place for a quieter side to exploring the area and easy access to Rome. Well communicated regarding the check in / out procedure and made to feel very welcome.
