Hótel Goðafoss Fosshóll, hotel in Laugar

Located in Godafoss, 700 metres from Godafoss Waterfall, Hótel Goðafoss Fosshóll provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace.

The location is fabulous, especially if you are allocated rooms 22-26 (ask for these rooms when you check in) as these look out over the falls and mountains. Sadly, our room was not on that side, but it did not really matter. The building has been painted so the picture on the website still needs to be updated which made it a little tricky to find. We asked at the local cafe, only to find out it was right next door. The hotel only opens for the summer so it is just getting underway with this season's staff and they still have a few things to iron out. Having said that the staff could not have been more helpful and very welcoming.

Guesthouse Stöng and Cottages, hotel in Laugar

Quietly located 5 km from Iceland's Ring Road and 13 km from Lake Mývatn, this family-run guest house offers views over Sandfell Mountain.

It is a good place, but it is in the middle of nowhere and there is no facility for cooking for the guests. In that case the only option left is to eat in their restaurant. I think they should have a common kitchen if someone wants to cook. We were promised that they will let us use their microwave but they refused at the last minute as the restaurant got very busy. Staff is good, food was also very nice . Breakfast spread was great 👍

The guesthouse is wonderful, we really loved it.

The guesthouse is wonderful, we really loved it. Very cosy and clean room, nice beds, great shower. Microwave, tea facilities, bathrobes for the hot tub. The cute horses on the land. The wonderful hot tub, sitting there at night under the stars waiting for the Northern Light was a magical experience. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast very good and the staff was so nice to us. We are vegetarian and they made scrambled eggs especially for us without bacon, thank you so much! We regretted having to leave, but when we are in the area again we will definitely come back!

We were looking for a property that gives us a truly Icelandic experience and memories, and that is exactly what this accommodation offers. The hosts are incredible and are willing to assist you in any way possible. Breakfast is to die for, with many of the items being homemade. The location is great and our room was spacious and immaculately clean. You can also see their animals (horses, sheep, chicken, dogs and goats)! Truly a remarkable experience. We miss the farm already! :)

Small garden cottage for two with everything you need, kitchenette, smaller living room, bedroom and bathroom. There is a hob, hot air fryer, electric kettle. Some food, cornflakes, coffee, tea, sugar, etc. are available. I appreciate the possibility of double darkening in the bedroom (it solves problems when the midnight sun shines outside, usually in the summer months in Iceland)

Our host was really welcoming, caring and informative. They took really seriously that every guest should feel like home and were proud of that they still give a classic guesthouse experience (of which they should). We ate the best breakfast here during our 12 days in Iceland! Exceptional variety and quality, with care prepared. The room was comfy, with an extra sink.

Clean rooms and good place to spend the night during your road trip. Breakfast was good, with variety of goods and coffee. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and in general it was very clean and cosy. The host was very kind and helpful during our (late) arrival at the hotel.

Clean, big apartment, good equipped kitchen. Best part - naturally filled, constantly renewing jacuzzi outside, which was amazing. Self check-in was convenient. Chose this accommodation due to quite close proximity to Myvatn natural baths, and was very happy by what we received.

Exceptional lovely hosts:) We enjoyed the stay a lot. Clean, comfy, homey, lovely breakfast. You can use the big kitchen from their camping facility. Perfect for a stay near Myvatn lake, if you are on a budget but don't want to compromise quality. We stayed 2 nights.

Wonderful, expansive room and buildings. Nice, safe campus which I came to learn is used as a boarding school in the Fall, Winter and Spring. One of the best breakfasts in our stay while in Iceland. Fresh fruit, no less.
