Great scenery all around, and it was close to some of the must-see destinations in southern Iceland without being too far from the Capital. Great place to stay for the price, and everything was clean.

The appartment is wonderful and very clean, situated in a remote location. The road to the building is gravel (about 2km) but it’s doable with any type of car (we had a small one).

Wonderful Hidden Gem of a Hotel and Breakfast was OUTSTANDING
Rooms are quiet and comfortable and well maintained and upgraded.
Shower was a little tight and needs some update to make a little safer for people stepping in and out. A grab bar or better flooring would help.
But overall WELL DONE

Hvolsvöllur is a small town (village?), but you can find restaurants, petrol station, supermarket here, therefore ideal base of excursions -for instance to the Golden Circle (North West) or Vik region (South West).
Nevertheless there is a very special facility, the Lava Centre which much be visited definitely.

Hvolsvöllur has plenty of good accommodation and a good grocery store. Very nice swimming pool as well. So its a good place for a base to travel from on day trips. Eldstó restaurant is a very friendly small place with great burgers and soups. Local attractions available.

The owners were very friendly.
The owners were very friendly. They help us even at midnight. The apartment was big, clean, enough for 6 people. The place was near by the Golden circle, Black beach and other attractions. Definitely recomend it.

The proximity to the ferry for the Westman Islands was the reason we chose this property - it was only 10mins drive from the ferry terminal. Additionally, the property is 1km from Seljalandfoss, meaning you can visit away from the busiest times of day. The cabins were literally on the ring road, making it easy to find but no need to worry about noise. A very good place to stay the night and enjoy all the amazing attractions between Seljanlandfoss and Vik.

The Lava Center is a phenomenal place to stop.
The Lava Center is a phenomenal place to stop. The exhibits are interactive and so well done, all ages will appreciate learning more about Iceland's volcanos.
We heard that there were tours for hiking out of this area, but the weather was way too extreme for us to check that out.
Even greater than expected, everything was of very high construction quality, very spacious room, also a spacious shower in the private bathroom, giant bed, very practical arrangement of all the things. Felt like a 4 star hotel, except that this place is in the middle of nowhere (which is a very positive thing, everything super quiet and you're close to nature). Good variety of breakfast, flexible check in and check out. Good self adjustable heating.
Looks like a tiny pre-fab warehouse on the outside, but a wonderful clean and bright little hotel on the inside! Rooms and beds very comfortable and not cramped. Bathrooms very modern. Entire site remarkably clean and fresh! Breakfast was on the small side but this isn’t a big place (?12 rooms) and we all felt satisfied with the food. Stayed only one night, but would definitely use for longer stay had we had any activities in the area.
This is a beautiful, cosy and comfortable place in the middle of Hvolsvöllur. The staff is friendly and helpful, the place was spotlessly clean, and it was really well stocked with everything you might need. I cant find any faults with this place at all, we slept really well and were very happy with everything. It's a really good place to stop while traveling Iceland.
Great cabin, great location! we even saw the northern lights 2 nights in a row during our stay here. Their tvs can even be connected to your netflix! Loved the coziness of the cabin and the design! will definitely book this again when we come back to Iceland! Oh, and the best part is its less than 5 mins to Seljalandsfoss!
By far the most beautiful hotel we stayed in during our trip. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They upgraded our room and we had an amazing view. Room was clean and breakfast was very good with a lot of choices. They also have a restaurant for dinner which we didn’t try but seemed promising.
We arrived in Iceland around 5:30am and decided to start our trip immediately. This hotel was our first night. The chicken dinner was very good as well as the breakfast. We thought we would be too tired to sleep, but was able to sleep through the night. Very nice stay.
one of the best hotels I ever stayed at. Super modern, clean and comfy beds. OUTDOOR HOT TUB and SAUNA - I mean, how is this even real?
super friendly staff and good location. on top of that the cheapest hostel I found in Iceland so far! Highly recommend.
One of the most unique places you'll stay in Iceland. The pods are very comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked with equipment and utensils. Very clean bathrooms and showers. Make sure you have a flashlight to get there during the night.
Rental is a full house lost in the Icelandic countryside, surrounded by horses. Beautiful view of Vestmannaeyjar from the house. Very quiet and practical with three bedrooms, a bathroom and a big living room and kitchen. I recommend it :)
An equestrian’s dream property, Skálakot should be on every horse girl’s bucket list. From riding the incredible Icelandic horses through stunning countryside, to the equine decor touches in the hotel, it was perfection.
This place is a hidden gem. It was absolutely amazing. It is a bit off the beaten path which we loved. The view off the deck was amazing and it was peaceful and tranquil. Our favorite place to stay in Iceland so far!
The view from the hotel was amazing. There is a beautiful mountain behind it.
The towel and sheets were very cool.
The room was little bit small but it was enough for us.
There are two dogs, they were so kind and smart.
This is a very beautiful hotel. Superb rooms . Excellent food. Very friendly staff. During our stay the best hotel , far from any other. Everything themed around horses.
Private, quiet location. Easy in and out. Great views. Fantastic shower pressure. If you like iceland ponies, this is the place for you. Great shampoo/conditioner!
Close to main attractions in the South Iceland, quite and cozy palce, supermarket not far away from the property, nice restaurants was nearby (Valkhalla)
