This Viking-themed hotel is located at the harbour in the seaside town of Hafnarfjordur. Humpback whales can sometimes be spotted in the harbour during winter.

The water front position was good if you had a view of it, which we didnt, novelty factor of the hotel was nice with carp pond outside the door, there is a hot tub but there was to many people in it so we were not able to try it out.The restaurant next door was amazing, lots to see and the food was superb, we were even sang to by a guy with a guitar, it was a nice touch. Room was clean and bed was comfy.

The hotel is close to the main road so it's very quick to reach the city centre of Reykjavik. The staff was very professional and polite. The hotel is nice, very clean and the breakfast was very good.
This hostel in Hafnafjordur, a town which is built on lava, is 15 minutes’ drive from central Reykjavik. It provides a well-equipped guest kitchen, communal dining area and BBQ equipment.

The location is in a really great part of town. Right next to the park. It's a little bit away from Reykjavik city center so it's quiet and calm and close enough to get to rekjavik by bus or long walk. Very nice. The hostel was clean and quiet and good lighting and water. The kitchen and laundry facility were such a treat very nice and clean. The staff was super nice and helpful with anything I needed. Will definitely come back here. 👍

Hotel is in a good location. Staff are friendly. Rooms are small but clean. The coffee machine in the room was appreciated. I was happy that I received an upgrade. Meals and drinks are expensive.

The location was ideal for exploring Reykjavik and for the tourist bus-stop which was immediately outside the hotel. As our flight arrived at 8 am we were pleased to be able to have an early check-in for 40 Euros which included breakfast.

We are use to very large rooms with kitchens in our hotel room. While we vacationed in Iceland we stayed at VRBO’s but we saw this unique hotel and had to stay here and experience it!
Loved walking around the hotel and the use of hot tub and sauna !!!

Lovely little fishing village.
Lovely little fishing village. There is a couple supermarkets and some restaurants. There is a main bus stop 2 mins from the Viking Hotel which was so handy and the stop for the Flybus coach to the airport (approx £23 pp one way) was opposite the hotel which was super handy and you get a beautiful view of the harbour whilst you wait.
We got off 2 stops early from Reykjavík one day and walked back to explore and there were some lovely sights on the way. It’s a really nice place that’s neat and tidy. Probably wouldn’t need more than half a day wandering round but it’s nice to see the town.

Great hotel. Was given a room upgrade.
Great hotel. Was given a room upgrade. The person at the reception desk was very helpful and recommended a great restaurant, A. Hansen, for dinner. Loved the shower head, felt like a personal waterfall. The room didn't have USB ports but fortunately I had a european plug adapter with me. The wifi was excellent.

Such a cute town!
Such a cute town! Small enough to feel cozy but also large enough to actually have restaurants and groceries! The whole town is very clean-like not a piece of trash anywhere. It’s so lovely & nice that it almost feels like it’s a movie set. we stayed on the water so the views were spectacular. It’s a short drive to Reykjavik so if you want to bustle of a city, you can have it in a few minutes. Its also a short drive to the blue lagoon so you can relax all day in the lagoon then make it back easily to Hafnarfjorour. Every person we met spoke English very well in the town so there were no communications issues. Pallet coffee shop is a lovely coffee shop with the friendliest staff and delicious bottomless coffee. Our first morning in town, we spent a couple hours just sipping coffee and talking with locals. Hotel Viking is cute. The rooms are nice and the staff friendly. We rented a car which made our stay very easy and everything in town was convenient.

What an awesome place!
What an awesome place! It was very conveniently located but in a nice and quiet residential area. The place was really clean and felt new; and it had everything you might need for a longer stay or a shorter one.

Hafnarfjordur was a good central location for getting to/...
Hafnarfjordur was a good central location for getting to/from the airport, Reykjavik town and the Blue Lagoon. There were a few nice restaurants nearby which reception told us about, Von Mathus and Krydd and we got takeaway from Dominoes which was also up the road from our hotel. We loved being near the 'World Class Gym' and got temporary membership.
Incredible location on a mountain hill just outside of Hafnarfjörđur. Beautiful cabin with hot tub and fully equipped kitchen. Landlady makes sure everything is clean and we were supported where ever we needed. From the cabin, most of Icelands treasures are within reach by car. The glaciers, volcano, Reykjavik Harbour, Golden circle, blue lagoon and many more we visited on a maximum drive of just over 2 hours (most were far less).
A great place to stay! Love to go back again.
Breakfast was great with Gluten Free options upon request. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. We were there for just two nights. we were accommodated for an early check in. This was a last minute decision but I was really glad we ended up here. It was close to Reykavik but gave us options to get to know other parts of the city. The hotel has access to a great gym right next door the Reebok Fitness Center.
When you stay with Arni, you get a slice of real Iceland. The accommodation is roomy and clean and the vintage decor adds to the homely feel. Arni was an attentive and caring host and that enhanced our visit. The facilities are basic but everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is very well situated for getting around Hafnarfjordur, with easy parking. We enjoyed our stay, thanks Arni!
The location was in an excellent position to explore what Iceland has to offer. the Room itself was amazing for me and 2 friends with shops just down to road this location was great. the facilities in the kitchen were all there (Pans, Pots, Cutlery, Oven, Microwave, Fridge and Dish Washer) We honestly felt like this was one of the best locations we stayed in whilst in Iceland!
Although the room was quite small for two people, the bed was quite comfy. We slept very good.
We like the hotel overall to reflect this authentic viking design overall. Everything is art in the hotel. All the interior design tells you a story. That was a great experience I must say. The stuff was so lovely. The breakfast was great.
Thelma and her family are quite lovely.. the communication is easy and uncomplicated. The apartment is very close to Reykjavik Downtown and near to many places like the Nationalpark, volcanoes and geothermal areas. We didn’t miss anything and had a great time in Iceland. Thank you for being your guests.
The Hotel Vellir was the last stop on our two week stay in Iceland. It was convenient to Reykjavik and the airport. The staff was friendly and let's not forget the filling breakfast with heart shaped waffles. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. It was a great last night.
We spent 7 days in Iceland and this apartment was the best choice! It was clean, well equipped and easily accessible. Our host Damon was very kind and helpful, we could count on him at any time! The next time we visit Iceland, we will definitely choose this apartment again! :)
The place was clean and really charming whereas we booked in the afternoon for the night. Not cold, no noise and all equipement we needed was avalable. We had a mail informing us the code to have keys. Thanks for a good last night in Iceland before back home !
We arrived on an early flight and the employee onsite did everything she could to get us into our room early so that we could rest. The hotel was conveniently located near two grocery stores and Go Campers, where we picked up our camper van.
The location of the Hotel is very good if you have a car and want to explore Iceland especially the places close to Reykjavik. The hotel is clean and there's a good parking space in front of it.
Very big, modern hotel in great location. There is a huge gym at the same building. Breakfast was really good, staff is nice and very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again
It was such a fun hotel. Great Viking theme, brilliant fun fir the kids. Our cottage was perfect, very comfy beds, fun for the kids, lovely bathroom and was very cosy.
