The purpose of my visit to Tiruvannamalai was to visit the great Arunachaleshwara temple. We had planned the visit on a weekday and away from the full moon so it was not a surprise when we discovered that we were the only 2 people close to the sanctum. The time was 16:30 hrs. We spent the rest of the time till 7 pm, going around the temple and admiring the architecture and beauty of the sculptures.
We had a very fulfilling darshan of the lord. We wish all others too have a similar and happy darshan of the lord.

Tiruvannamalai is a extraordinarily charged with Energies of Great Sages who meditated on the Sacred Hill Arunachala for Centuries. So I would recommend people to Stay here for atleast 4 days and Meditate in Ramanashramam and Virupaksha Cave and Skandashramama and Explore your Inner space which is far more beautiful than external structures ........(please do not go to places of serious meditation mentioned above with kids and family and disturb the real seekers ,you should only opt the places of meditation if you can sit in meditation for at least an hour or two)
..If you want to plan a trip with family and kids , please kindly keep yourself away from places of meditation and checkout other attractions like Temples, Sathanur Dam, GiriValam.. Two hills to Trek are 'Arunachala Hill' and 'Paravathamalai' (ofcourse without visiting the places of meditation on this hill if you are not a seriously in to meditation)

Visiting during the Karthik festival made it the best time to be there. One must go around the whole city, including market places, and not restrict oneself to a single ashram or temple. Mountain climb and Shiv temple darshan and the parikrama on foot or vehicle are wonderful experiences.

If you want to see Scandashram do it if you donot go for giri pradikshna. Otherwise avoid it. Don't visit Tiruvannamalai during full moon days Darshan will take much much time and not a satisfactory Darshan.

Well good experience in tiruvannamalai, finished temple...
Well good experience in tiruvannamalai, finished temple darshan and girivalam, i stayed in excellent property named MPS Saai Residency at ramana nagar for one day, its very safe place, clean property with security guard and closed secured car parking, respectful staffs, will recommend to all, next time will stay again. main helpful thing is if you want to have breakfast, dinner or lunch you can order it in front office, they provide door service and swiggy delivery also available, important is the property is very close to all ashrams, temple and girivalam main road. auto transport is arranged by the property itself with nominal charges. Thank you
The hospitality of the owner from the day of booking till the time we checked out was excellent. Quite polite and well mannered host. The host’s mother who lived next door made us feel at home with warm welcome and as when we check out. Amazing location located close by to the Tiruvanaamalai temple. It was pretty safe as we left for Girivalam at 430am & suggested hotel kanna was pretty decent with all of our meals during the stay. Much recommended for couples & families.
The home stay was very comfortable. Boobalan was very co-operative and provided with everything what we wanted. He was also very flexible with check in time as we reached only by 12 AM. He guided us to the temple road and the Girivalam as well. He also accommodated our request for tea/ coffee even in early morning 3.30 AM. Overall Clean room with AC, clean and good washroom. Parking is available. Definitely recommended place to stay when visiting Tiruvannamalai.
Absolutely enjoyed our stay at Thaai Residency in Tiruvannamalai. The view of Arunachala Hill from the terrace is breath taking and the hospitality from the residency staff, especially the mother son duo handling the restaurant in the residency, was fantastic. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Tiruvannamalai.
I appreciated a lot the calm location, it is a family hotel with not many rooms, not far from Ramana Ashram. The room I had was on the ground floor, a bit narrow, equiped with the fan and an air conditioning and bathroom, the staff was friendly. I'd like to go back in future.
Peaceful and a nice stay. Clean and very comfortable. Near to Tiruvannamalai temple, bus stand and railway station. Mukesh was always available and helpful in attending to our needs. Highly recommended for a well satisfied stay. Thanks to Mukesh and family.
Hotel ambience, Rooms, hotel staff, all I liked very much.especially hotel staff his name is mani.he helped us a lot .he booked a auto early mng to us.he guided at what time it will be easy to dharshan.thankyou mani for everything
the guest house is situated in a nice silent location just 1 km away from ramana ashram. The host is humble, helpful & friendly. The rooms are also very spacious, its a 1 BHK apartment. Also a rooftop with the arunachala view.
Very good hotel. Family room was large. Entire property is very clean. Close to main temple and lot of options for food. The hotel only misses on restaurant but swiggy and zomato available. Overall comfortable stay.
The only good thing about this hotel is its location, not too far from the Ashram. As for the rest, I recommend finding another place. There's plenty of accommodation around on the spot.
