Keep low expectations for the beauty, Dal Lake is dirty and need massive clean up. facilities for families (especially ladies) are very basic and unhygienic. Food is over priced. Phalgam is overrated. Gulmarg cable car ride is ok if not crowded. Mughal gardens in the city are not so great after these many years. Morning and sunset views are nice for pictures.

The main attractions here is the shikara ride on the dal lake. It's an exhilarating experience especially towards the evening when the twilight of the sunset alleviates the splendor of everything in sight. Definitely a experience that should not be missed.
There are a lot of gardens like Cheshma Shahi, Shalimar, Nishat, Tulips, etc. They are all very beautiful but almost the same.... you seen one, you seen them all. I would suggest seeing any one of them.
The market area like Residency Road, Lal Chowk provides a good shopping experience and just a good stroll too if not anything else.

Srinagar is a wonderful place and an absolute delight on the senses - both visual as well as gastronomical. Not to mention the fact that the locals were quite friendly. The city is also blessed with great places which are quite close and can be visited easily.

I arrived in kashmir and was instantly greeted by the hospitality of the kashmiri people and ibrahim,the owner of the houseboat ,as well as his family.They try everything they can to make you enjoy your stay,in which they certainly never failed.Thet gave me the chance to go trekking in the himalayas as well as boat tour on dal lake or city trips to the city of srinagar .The houseboat also is a perfect place to just relax and meeting new peoples.An experience i will never forget, thanks to everyone on the wild Rose !

Choosing Minar group of houseboat was my best decision for the trip. The decor of the houseboat reflects the typical kashmiri culture.
The host aka Mr. Nasir and everyone was very sweet and welcoming.
We were provided home-cooked delicious food with flavours of kashmiri cuisine. Also, he helped us with the transportation facilities.
He is the best host I have ever met.
We recently stayed in Hotel yong Mamta for 4 nights and the overall experience is very very good. Room service is responsive. Also located near dal lake which is top tourist attraction and hotel price is decent.
And Mr.Abrar nabi who is the owner of this hotel also very friendly and kind.
