Rishikesh - the holy city, the city of Yoga have a vast range to offer to the pilgrimage.
Travellers not only across India ,but from abroad do have this city in their bucket list.
One may visit Neelkanth temple, Neer waterfall, Beatles ashram, the local market and how you can forget the Ganga Aarti at triveni Ghat, in the evening,
You may choose the adventurous activities also, like Rafting and bungee jumping.
And yes you may visit several cafe's at Tapovan, one which I recommend is Ira's kitchen.
PS - Plan your dates in weekdays to get most from it, otherwise in weekends, most of your trip goes in traffic jams only.

Rishikesh is amazing depending upon what you like.. take a walk around the Ganges, go hike for beautiful waterfalls and sunrises or spend your time in the Cafes sipping coffee and enjoying meals or go yoga, meditation and kirtan.
It's a balanced place to find whatever you like a corner for everyone there. I'd recommended Rishikesh as a getaway for weekend or more days to anyone

It's a mini world of its own out there!
It's a mini world of its own out there!
Come for the calm, peace and doing things at your own pace if solo traveling. If with friends, there are plenty of things to do as well. There are plenty of food options (non-vegetarian would be much less since it's a holy, religious spot). Cafes and restaurants abound! Random shopping for knick knacks and 'hippie' clothing is sorted. My favourite bit remains the serenity at the quiet spots at the river bank. Go and just inhale and exhale. Take a dip or two. Swimming is to be cautious and it's good there are regular announcements for visitors' safety as one shouldn't underestimate the calm flow of the huge river Ganges is. Rafting should be done if going for the first time. I haven't done it a second time around in my other two times there but would be game to check out the other adventure activities maybe next time. Maybe I should plan a longer trip and do indulge in yoga and all as it'll only be good for the body and soul. Another good thing is that if one plans, Dehradun, Mussoorie, Haridwar are all nearby. It's a great idea to get a two wheeler on rent as that makes mobility great.

Many years ago it used to be a good place to experience real indian Ashram life and you could meet quite a few spiritually impressive teachers and Swamis. You could sit quietly at the Ganges and join one of the many Kirtans in the evening. Prices reflected that atmosphere and time would pass quickly when you immersed yourself in that lifestyle.
But that time has long disappeared and nowadays it lives only on reputation from those days.
Everything is about money, even the Ashrams are now run as commercial enterprises and the quality of the teachings is mediocre at best.
You can get better Yoga training in most cities in the west.
There are lot of westerners having based themselves here to teach and rake in the money from naive tourists. Even the sadhus that would roam the streets have disappeared.
A lot that is being sold comes from China and everywhere there are Ayurvedic clinics and Well-being Spas and bad Latte's or cappuccinos cost as much as in the west.
Plastic pollution is really bad.
Check out McLeod Ganj, they are doing a bit better managing their heritage and nature surroundings.
Cheers

Rishikesh is a great place for tourists to stay.
Rishikesh is a great place for tourists to stay. It combines the warmth of Indian culture, nature, adventure sports, good cafes and restaurants, and choices for accommodations. It is known for its Ashrams more than temples

On second day of stay we have visited Neer Waterfall,Which is great option to go.First day we went on triveni ghat for evening aarti and that was very goof experience . Also visited Neelkanth Mahadev Temple which is a great place to visit.Ramjhula and Lakshman Jula are great places to visit.Do not park your car on road side as high chances of challan by traffic police. If you want to have food like home , you may go approx two km away from tapovan. You may find good food on reasonable prices.
Extended my stay from 1 week to 2 weeks and plan to return. This is a great hotel and accessible for people with limited mobility. The best hotel I've stayed at in Rishikesh. It is always clean and the staff are very respectful and helpful. It is very safe for female solo travelers. You have the Parmarth ashram right next door and access to the river Ganges. Plenty of places to eat at and get supplies. There is always staff available 24/7. I extended my stay. Hot water is available and so is laundry facilities.
We stayed for three nights at the Holy River, culminating in the Rishikesh Holi celebrations.
From the moment walking through the door the staff were exceptional. The rooms are spacious, clean and ours had a river view. This hotel is excellent value for money.
We had come from a five star hotel in Rishikesh, that was three times the price, and was nowhere near as comfortable, and certainly not as well located.
We highly recommend staying here for its position to everything, comfort and value.
The location was fabulous just on the banks of the Ganga. We could take walks along the river banks, have breakfast by the riverside. It was in main Rishikesh yet the hotel side was relatively calm and peaceful. View from the hotel rooms and public areas was stunning. The buffet breakfast and dinner was delicious with wide array of vegetarian mouthwatering food. The spa has some very good and relaxing massages, is a must try.
Hotel Perfect Stayz hills is a very good choice of stay in rishikesh. As per my search & experience, this is one of the pocket friendly hotel in the heart of rishikesh. Hardly 100meters from main road. Parking also available all Major attractions of Rishikesh are near to this place and the services, amenities, cleanliness, ambience was just awesome
Hotel all staff helpful. Good food.
Value for mony
Before booking i was not expecting such an awsome experience will be there
1day prior to checkin we received a call from hotel for the location assistance.
Checkin was really smooth.
Food was really good 😊
Rooms were nice with good size
Staff is good and caring 👍🏻
Thank you guys for making my trip memorable one... will visit again next year with friends
Keep it up guys 👍🏻
The air company lost my luggage and after 5 days the owners of the hotel where dealing with it and helped me get my bag back. This is only a small example of how involved the people in the hotel are with the clients. Also, everything was really clean and they will provide you with whatever you need. I will be coming back 100% when I'm back in Rishikesh.
We did visit Rishikesh and stayed at the resort for 2 days. We booked a cottage and
it was way exceptional than what we expected. The service at the hotel was also
very good. The staff was humble and polite and always there to help u out. coming
to the food, the breakfast was very nice and my 4-year-old daughter enjoyed it
thoroughly.
The room is spacious, bed very comfortable and the staffs are really attentive and helpful. I was on night bus and arrived really early in the morning, and I was allowed to check in. It’s superb hotel in Rishikesh if you don’t too fussy about things, for me I am really happy with the service and all.
The hotel is located in the southern part of Rishikesh directly on the Ganges river. A nice walking trail along the river is easily accessible. The room was spacious and quiet. The personnel was very courteous and helpful. Basic Yoga training is offered directly at the hotel which is very convenient.
Best budget Hotel with all luxury amenity and the best part is, the hotel is on rooftop deck with scienic ganga and mountain view. The cab as well as auto everything you will easily get in front of the hotel. Staffs are very good and humble, room is clean.. I enjoyed my stay at there.
The staff were very helpful. Bianca on the front desk was lovely.
I felt very safe as a female solo traveller. The hotel was very quiet as it was low season. Nice hot showers, comfortable bed, good aircon and back up for wifi and fan for the power cuts that plague Rishikesh.
Hotel Staff was very very cooperative. Hotel location is also very good but bit far from LaxmanJula. Hotel food was also amazing and very very tasty. I will recommend everybody to go for this Hotel while your stay at Rishikesh.
The owner of this property is too good .. home cooked food ....good connectivity with city , secret water fall and trek to kunjapuri mata ...
Just check-in this hotel and enjoy the rishikesh, teri garwhal etc ..
Grace Ganga Hotel, one of the number one hotel in Rishikesh, a perfect family hotel with spectacular Ganga view, very good staff, neat and clean rooms and best of all, the manager Ravikant ji, thank you very much.
It is a very nice and comfortable hotel close to the Tapovan area. The staff is very helpful and super nice. Especially Kirit Sharma is amazing. I definitely recommend this hotel while enjoying Rishikesh.
first all staff have very polite nature and accomodation is perfect for everyone, they care about tourist and hotel view from terrace is awsm.
