I recently had the privilege of staying at Welcome Tower Hotel in Gaya with my parents for the auspicious occasion of Pitra Paksha. To say that our experience was exceptional would be an understatement.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a genuine understanding of our unique situation. Our stay included two separate Air Conditioned rooms, which were clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed. The rooms provided a relaxing and cozy atmosphere, allowing us to unwind after a long day of religious rituals.
The highlight of our stay was the last day when our Pitra Paksha pooja extended beyond our initial expectations, causing us to return to the hotel well after the standard check-out time. I cannot express enough gratitude to the property owners, Rahul and Shabaz, who showed immense kindness and empathy. They not only allowed us to stay beyond the check-out time but also waived any additional charges. Their compassion and understanding made a profound impact on us.
The hotel's location is excellent, with a Reliance Smart supermarket conveniently situated on the ground floor. Additionally, the presence of various shops in close proximity ensures that you can easily find anything you may need during your stay.

My expectation about Bodh Gaya fell far short of expectation...
My expectation about Bodh Gaya fell far short of expectation. A world heritage site where so many people even foreigners visit should have been much much cleaner with proper crowd management mechanism.
People visit Gaya for religious purpose. Authorities should remember God lives in cleaner places. Gaya is unbelievably dirty chaotic, traffic is atrocious . I didnt like the place.
If I had better option for pindadaan I would rather go to that place than Gaya.
I will not recommend my children or any one to go to Gaya for pindadaan.
A place of such importance for Hinduism should have been much better.
Gaya gives a very bad and wrong image of traditional India. I am ashamed that this place is visited by foreigners who get a wrong idea about India.

I suggest spending a day in Bodhgaya (close to Gaya) if you're travelling around North India. It is not very touristic, so it can give you another perspective of the country and it is also a "wind of fresh air" after visiting indu temples and mosques: here you can find dozens of buddhist temples, all in the same place! Of course the Mahabodhi Temple is the cherry on top of the cake, we liked it a lot.

People are very honest, diligent and sincere. They are poor yet dependable. Most unhygienic, poor-quality food. The state government has utterly failed in maintaining the sanctity of the holy places.
The monastery and temples are very well and beautifully maintained.
The poverty and illiteracy of the poor people is very well exploited by the successive state governments.

First select a room not by the rating & offers provided in booking.com, if I viewed the review of that hotel in google. I wouldn't have booked it. Pls book a decent hotel while traveling to other States (Book hotels really have all amenities don't get cheated by false offers in booking.com). Money is not important peace of mind is important. If you feel you re being cheated, you can't enjoy the trip.
Very clean room and with good room service. They have a terrace and good layout. Owner and staff is amazing.

The location is good, easy to go in auto rickshaw in Bodhgaya, train and bus stand in the city to leave or to go to visit Nalanda and Rajgir.
If you need informations, the manager can give it to you, advice you ;-) He give me some fresh cooked food to try as well. You can ask hot water.
