It was our first time staying in a Buddhist temple complex. The vibe of the place was fabulous. The staff went out of the way to arrange paragliding us. Which was not only cheaper than the market rate but excellent in service. Bir is hub of Buddhist religion, adventure sports and food and all three are available at this one place . A big thanks to the guys out there and hoping to be there again soon .

We stayed here 2 nights and We fully enjoyed our stay. It's very near and at walkable distance to Nyingma Monastery and Chokling Monastery. The Paragliders Landing are is also very near and only two Kms far from Hotel Rigveda. Rooms are clean and the Care Taker of the Hotel is very helpful in nature. It's couple and Family friendly Hotel. Overall it's very good option for staying at Bir Colony.

Such a beautiful and peaceful location. After a week I didn’t want to leave and could happily have stayed a month.
The owners and staff all incredibly kind and a joy to be amongst so many Monks living and breathing Tibetan Buddhism with such warmth and friendliness. Lots of opportunities to visit the 2 main temples and sit in the back while practice is going on.
Close enough to Bir, about 15 min drive or a 90 minute walk along a peaceful road through the forest.
Food at the restaurant attached seats delicious.

best thing is paragliding spot (billing) is just 15kms away and the market is just 2 kms away and for the food i visited in the market which is near to the landing point and i reached there vaya mandi i came from delhi after mandi the 67kms road is patchy rest of all trip was amazing

Bir is an amazing place to chill and relax. It's less commercialized, there's lots of open spaces and small hikes to explore around by your own. Take a electric cycle and roam around nearby villages and take in the himachali life.

If ur a fan of sunsets … go no further … the sunset from the landing site or for that matter the view from Hobbit House Bir is amazing. Best place in India for Paragliding.
Make sure to go to the landing point at least once during sunset

Bir is a small place.
Bir is a small place. Has lots of beautiful cafes with lovely views, either of the mountains or of the paragliders landing. Paragliding is a super fun activity! Must try.
The overnight journey from Delhi is painful. The roads towards Bir were bad and have lots of twists and turns. Even though the Volvo buses were very comfortable!

Bir is a hill station that is neither too crowded (like Nainital or Shimla) nor too desolate (like Khajjar, Sissu or Mukteshwar).
It is the capital of adventure sports in our country and one can also take professional courses in solo paragliding here.
There are some scenic routes for riding your bike (motorised or otherwise) and some serene spots to visit.. wherever you stay at should be able to help you with the same.
One can visit its monasteries for some quiet time and can choose from a host of restaurants to chill and vibe with people you like.
I would suggest a stay at The Bunker cause that was one great experience for me. Also try out the Himalayan Cafe for some delectable food or The Happy Vibes Cafe for free Wi-Fi and two great dogs.

It’s a nice place with very less crowd. I had travelled to Kasol and Manali after Bir and was regretting my decision of leaving Bir in 1 day. If someone want to have some peaceful and alone time, Bir is the place to go. It’s clean, peaceful, beautiful and refreshing. The people are also very nice, simple and supportive. I explored the village on foot and this was the most peaceful day of my entire trip.
