Everything. It’s a beautiful little homestay situated about 2 kilometres from the town of Uttarkashi. The host is amazing, hospitable, and treats you really well. He went out of his way to pick me up and also drop me back. I couldn’t recommend this property enough.

Can't find much of a reason to be in Barkot other than as a layover to the next location. There is some interesting old architecture down in the community and some old ashrams. I tended to eat in main street tea shops. There are many of them and lots of choices for inexpensive meals. I did take a long hike up into the hills above the city to get away from the noise (incessant horn honking).
