Friendly, clean, personable and Caroline is a great host. I also appreciated herbal tea option, the robes and the cute stuffed dogon the bed (which I named Otis).

Excellent breakfast with fresh fruit every morning, good tea and good coffee, super bread and croissants!
Very good beds, a nice house which feels like home, with a peaceful countryside view, and even some calves feeding in the "wild flowers" garden part!
Pam is welcoming, 'est aux petits soins', dedicated to us, with very good advice to go into Dublin or for pubs!!! and her husband is very attentive and nice too!
A magnificent humane experience as well !
Thank you to both of you! Hope to see you in Touraine...

Great central location, Fiona was lovely , good secure parking up the road for 2 euros a day. No food on offer but there are loads of places to eat around Trim.
Trim and its surroundings are historically very interesting.
Trim and its surroundings are historically very interesting. Apart from visiting the Trim Castle, there are numerous other interesting old monastic sites, as well the Hills of Tara with an ancient monument and burial sites. Within a short drive from Dublin, the Boyne Valley has a lot to offer.

Trim has a great castle, used in the filming of Braveheart.
Trim has a great castle, used in the filming of Braveheart. The guided tour of the keep is quite good. There is a friendly family of donkeys in a pasture just down the road from the castle and you are allowed to feed them (a sign with foods that are allowed is in the pasture). Trim is a great base for exploring Bru na Boinne, Mellifont Abbey, the Hill of Tara and other areas of interest. I actually;lly would have stayed 3-4 nights instead of 2, but we had reservations in a different area.

Trim castle is awesome!
Trim castle is awesome! The tour provides historical, anecdotal and architectural context for the structure, and the grounds have detailed markers and schematics to help you understand what you're seeing. We needed more time to explore the grounds, the ruined Abbey, and surrounding areas. Dinner at the Stock House restaurant provided a good steak and interesting decor to explore. Definitely a stop for a day or two on our next trip to Ireland.

We only stayed in Trim one night.
We only stayed in Trim one night. We went to the castle which is in pretty good shape. Entry is free but you can pay for a guided tour of the Keep which you should do.
We ate dinner at the Trim Castle Hotel in the Bailey Brasserie. It is a little expensive but we thought the meal was very good. The host was friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was that our waiter was very busy and not very attentive but this would not keep me from returning.

Came to the hotel for a wedding.
Came to the hotel for a wedding. Lovely scenery of the castle from the rooftop and some rooms. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. My room was nice and had everything I needed and the breakfast was very nice. I paid €190 for 1 night stay in a double room which I thought was too expensive for a Monday night but overall I enjoyed my stay.
The location is in Trim which is a nice town, with pleasant walks along the river Boyne.
We found our room to be very comfortable with a good ensuite.
The breakfasts are very good, cereals, yoghurt, croissants, toast, full Irish or in my case vegetarian, hot drinks and juice.
All in all we found our stay pleasant with welcoming hosts and I would definitely recommend Caravogue House to family or friends visiting Co. Meath.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the breakfast (vegetarian) tasted good, the charging points were excellent and quick. The hotel had beautiful rustic decor and was in a very central spot in Trim. The hotel had parking facilities and had access to a very friendly taxi service. Also felt that hotel was reasonably priced.
Highfield House is beautiful, warm and welcoming. Lovely room. Great location for a stay over in Trim, short walk to all amenities. Would definitely recommend.
