Very nice and quiet place. The personal of the hotel were very attentive and friendly. The menu was not so big but very delicious. We liked this place. Very expensive village compared to what's actually available. Only a few restaurants which cost the same as higher-quality restaurants in the capital, and only a few things for sightseeers. Not much to do for days in case of rain.
I'd recommend against going to the cave, because people have been doing their business inside. Szilvásvárad is good for like a 3-4 days trip, but nothing more.

If you like travelling around and discovering new places in nature, Szilvasvarad is the place you should add on your list. Such a peaceful place with amazing nature and hills around. Perfect for a nice hike. You can also take a small touristy train which takes you around the hills, the scenarios are amazing. The specialty of the place is smoked trout. Trust me when i say that it is simply delicious and that alone is enough reason to visit the area.
hotel is within walking distance from village center. nicely rebuilt property in a big, well kept park. was good to have a walk there after checking in. stayed in castle building, room was spacy and confy, well equipped and kept spotlessly clean, both dinner and breakfast are okay
The meals were outstanding. The bus stop was very close to the hotel. It was a quiet place. We heard nothing from other rooms or downstairs. The decor was magnificent. The table settings were first class. We loved the paintings too
The place was clean, we had wine waiting for us, a bathroom with bath and candles, so it was super romantic. Szilvasvarad is lovely, we had great time and the host was super nice!
