Hotel is recently renovated and facilities are brand new. Wellness & spa facilities and private 'beach' in front of the hotel were amazing. Room was very comfortable and clean; great quality mattress and pillows. Breakfast and dinner buffet was tasty. Staff in the restaurant was super friendly and well trained, in contrary to the reception/spa staff (see negative comment below).

Good location within the town, you can easily walk to the city center, the chateau and the lake, the breakfast and the room was fine. Be sure to book a parking spot in the garage, otherwise you can park on the street only overnight + 4 hrs.

There is nothing to see, just Balaton lake. But, for us that was the reason to come since we wanted to avoid any outside activities. Just wanted to do be in the hotel and enjoy in SPA! Will come back for sure!

Keszthely is well worth the trip.
Keszthely is well worth the trip. It has an historical town centre, more than one beach, a stately home with interesting museums including a fabulous model railway facility and the beautiful gardens are free to stroll through or sit on one of the many available benches. There were plenty of eating places, which are reasonably priced and the area is well serviced by buses and trains.

This is a tourist town, but not as crowded as those on the south of the lake. It is advertised as a medieveal town but there was little sign of this. However, it was a pleasant place to be with good beches, and the restaurants were OK if you chose carefully.

An unexpectably charming town on lake Balaton. There are some amazing parks, the whole town is very clean and full of flowers. People are friendly and many speak at least some English or German. Not all restaurants are open in October, but there are many places where you can taste amazing local foods. The place is a heaven for people who love museums, and the church and the castle are breathtaking. If you like cycling or water sports then you will find many interesting activities by the lake where you can also find a Ferris wheel and see the town from a little different perspective.

Nice and cosy town located far away (by European scales) from big cities. Good place to have a rest and enjoy the Balaton lake with a family and kids. All beaches are in very good conditions and are not very deep. So, it may be even a problem to swim for adults)
Have you no kids you may also find a lot of attractions in and around the city: palaces, small streets and restaurants in the old city center, castels, souvenir markets, local wineries, thermal batches.
The hostess was very friendly and hospitable.
She gave us lots of ideas and tips on what to visit and explore.
Accomodation was lovely and comfortable.
Everything was flawless.
It is ideal for people who like to spend time outside.
There is a beautiful garden and a terrace where you can relax in the evening after a day spent sightseeing.
Decoration of the whole place is really nice.
I definitely recommend a stay of at least 7 days because the offer of sights in Keszthely and its surroundings is numerous.

A nice hotel in Keszthely. They were very good about me removing a night from my stay after EasyJet pushed back my intended departure time by six hours, meaning I could not get to the southern end of Lake Balaton. Good location for the town centre, the beach, the restaurants by the beach and a good restaurant right outside. I have stayed in Keszthely before, not at the Abbazia, but would do so again. Good reception staff. Solid and reliable place, basically, guaranteeing a pleasant stay.
A wonderful little guesthouse (only four rooms)!
It doesn't matter why you came to Keszthely, whether you're just passing through there, you came to ride a bike around Balaton or just to enjoy nature and you want to escape from the crowds, immerse yourself in silence and coziness, stay in this family villa. Here they will offer you such a good breakfast that many hotels would envy. It ends with homemade pancakes made by the mother and served by the daughter.

Reka is a wonderful host, she is very warm and she made us feel very welcome right away. She made great suggestions for restaurants and things for us to do in the area. The apartment is beautiful. It is in a great, quiet location, a 10 minute walk to the beach and a 20 minute walk to the center of town. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. There are restaurants close by and places to buy food. I highly recommend this lovely apartment.
The very spacious apartment is practically in the middle of the town and only couple of minutes away from main square. Excellent possibilities for walking tours. Only a few steps away from open market, where you can also park. You may find a good pastry and bread shop on this market, usually opens at 6 AM - must try out richly filled poppy croissant. A must-see are also old castles in the vicinity of Keszthely. Also go and discover local wineries.
A beautiful apartment for a visit to this charming part of Hungary. It had everything you need for a short or long stay. The host was great to work with. The wifi was strong and the place was impeccably clean. We were happy to have a dedicated parking spot with easy in and out access. The town/Waterfront are close enough for walking (15 minutes) and the neighborhood is great to stroll around. Overall a great stay
Super unique and luxurious apartment located right in the centre of the plaza, panoramic view in the room. We stayed in winter so having the Jacuzzi and sauna was an amazing experience. The hotel only has one room and is run by a family, they were all super friendly and helpful. They have a cafe downstairs and also there was a very good restaurant in the plaza called Klassz Kultbisztró. Great experience overall.
Location is perfect. City Centre is walking distance, lake is even closer. Big Tesco store is 5 minutes car drive away.
It’s very quiet hotel, hotel staff will go all in for your happiness. They’re truly hardworking people, speaking German or English, with no problems. Parking wasn’t a problem at all, secured location in front of the hotel, costs around 4€/day. Will come back.

If you arrive without a car, you'll need to walk a bit to get to the next beach ( ~ 10 min) or to the train station ( ~ 25 min). The city center is roughly a half-an-hour walk away, and there are great places to eat within this distance. A grocery shop is nearby.
Our stay was very good. The neighborhood was quite but close to the beach and city centre. The host was very kind and helped us in all ways. We had the deluxe suite, which is very spacious. We stayed only one night but would even recommend it for longer stays.
It was a very convenient and comfortable for our 1 night stay. it was a short walk from the train station which made it easy for us to get to. The room was a good size and it was very well located and a short walk to see everything Keszthely had to offer.
We enjoyed staying at the house, the rooms were fully equipped and the host was lovely and helpful. The location was quiet and close to the beach, restaurants, downtown. The yard was beautiful and relaxing. Everything was great!!!
