Hotel Minaret&Étterem, hotel in Eger

This property is 9 minutes walk from the beach. Facing the Ottoman-period minaret or the Castle of Eger, the rooms at Hotel Minaret&Étterem come with private bathroom, satellite TV, a fridge and free...

The hotel is a filthy infection bomb. It's nothing you can appreciate there. 1. They tried to bill us before arrival even if it's mentioned that you have nothing to pay in advance. 2. The room (double) was under the roof, no air, hot, full of old furniture in bad condition. 3. The fridge was out of order (water inside and on the floor) 4. Found one hair on the sink in the bathroom, the sink faucet was rusty 5. Old towels in bad condition 6. Lights worked partially 7. Problems to close the door 8. The receptionists didn't say hello The biggest issue is the filth. The rooms are stinking. I've never imagined that this still exists in a European country. Booked 3 days, stayed 2, all hotels were booked because of the Eger wine fair but I wanted to get out after 2 minutes. It was a torture to stay there.

Enjoyed the thermal baths and the valley of beautiful women, but the castle museum was a bit of a letdown. Definitely wouldn't spend more than one night here, but could even just pass through it for a short visit on the way to somewhere else.

We made the mistake of coming during the winter, we really wanted to enjoy nature in the mountains and to visit the national park. Due to weather conditions we couldn't do much and the national park was closed. The steam train nearby was also closed. It's a cute village to visit, i bet it is more beautiful during spring/summer/autumn.

A really good size room with a nice sitting area off the bedroom. The location to get everywhere in Eger was perfect and if you got lost just look for or ask for the minaret. A really good landmark for your place. This property has apartments as well as rooms. Like most apartment rentals you get service upon arrival then if you need more you must make a request. The breakfasts were very adequate for us. We enjoyed staying here and really liked Eger.

Hotel is about 10 minute drive from the centre of Eger. Suitable for those who like horses and countryside. Due the language barrier we were not able to find out if somewhat safe walking route goes from the hotel to the first street which has enough light. Otherwise, if fitness level is good, then it is about 30-60 minutes walking to the old town of Eger. Just bring a flashlight or headlamp to be visible for cars just in case.

The location is super central. The fact that parking is available is a great advantage. The staff is very nice and helpful. Special thanks to the young man who welcomed us and was there also the next day. :) The apartment has a great garden at the back from where you could watch the roofs of Eger. It is at the roof level. It would be great advantage if it would be cleaned and the guests could sit there.

The owner of the house welcomed us with home made cake and a bottle of wine which was really great. The house was excellent as depicted on the pictures, located very close (walking distance) to the town centre. Parking in the garage was also excellent. I hope we will come to Eger again and stay at the Egri Otthonom Vendégház.

Price was decent including parking but has downsides. The flat is located very close to the center of Eger which is a blessing and a curse. We had so much noise from the street all night , even with closed windows and closed external blinds. I woke up few times because people outside being so loud.
