The hotel is nicely decorated with plants and has a nice “vibe”. The breakfast was very very good and the staff very helpful and polite. The hotel is located very close to the main streets and there are a lot of restaurants around to choose from. Even though you could hear some noise coming from the main streets we had no trouble sleeping. However, the pillows and the mattress could use a refresh as they where not very comfortable to be honest. Also weather was very hot and humid when we where there and it will be a great addition to have AC in at least some rooms for the customers which want it.

Main Street Santander is not ideal, you listen to reggaeton music in many places which is terrible and so disgusting. There are many little restaurants where you can eat for a fair price. The lake view is great but the surroundings are not very nice, the place is not tourist ready, you might go to other little towns like San Pedro, Santa Cruz or San Juan

Like with many places (or even more than most places)...
Like with many places (or even more than most places) depending on your choices Panajachel can be fabulous, beautiful, exhausting, authentic, spiritual, commercial and ……Read about it as much as you can before you go. Endless options here for all kinds of traveler. I found it to be very interesting and would love to be able to come back some day.

Panajachel is paradise. The weather is beautiful.
Panajachel is paradise. The weather is beautiful. Lots of sun, but not too hot most of the time. Lots of great restaurants. There are a lot of markets stalls around with local goods, like hand woven textiles. The lake itself is amazing. Panajachel has access to something for everyone. San Juan for artists, San Pedro for a nice night life, San Antonio for pottery, San Marcos for yoga retreats, etc. All of the towns are just a lancha (ferry) ride away. Be careful during the rainy season, because in the afternoons you can get soaked

This is a very clean and safe place to stay.
This is a very clean and safe place to stay. I felt very safe being out during the day and at night also. It is easy to get a tuk tuk to take you where you want to go. There are plenty of places to eat with a variety of menu choices. Most menus have vegetarian options. I have never had a problem with finding great food and the prices are very reasonable.
If you want to explore the other villages on the lake, it is easy to take a public boat and go anywhere.

This town is so much fun.
This town is so much fun. Definitely has a tourist trap vibe but the activities here are so much fun. We did an ATV tour to see the sunset. We had a blast! The views were breathtaking. There was some road work that cut our planned tour short but the guild we had was amazing and did what he could to make it a full and worth while experience. Simoon tours was who we went with. Yesua was our guild, though I could be butchering his name, sorry if I am. He was amazing! I would absolutely do other tours they offer, especially if he was the guild again. So much fun!
Without a doubt, this place is an oasis amidst the chaos of Panajachel. While there may be other options near the lake, the hot springs at Regis are truly worth staying for. The staff members were incredibly kind, always providing accurate information and offering support when needed. The hotel boasts a spacious backyard where the hot spring pools are nestled among ancient trees, frequented by birds and squirrels.
Everything! The hostel is right in the city center, but still quiet and relaxed. It has a nice garden with a very friendly parrot that greets you. The kitchen is clean and well equipped. The hostel sells drinks. You have your own terrace on the balcony. The room is spacious and clean, and has the best shower I’ve ever had in Guatemala. The bed is super nice with soft sheets. I really recommend this place.
One of my favourite places to stay from Guatemala. Really close to the centre, beautiful room with such a nice view, even from the bathroom, over the green garden. You can stay here for a beer (from the next door shop) and a chat. The breakfast is not included, but there are great and fair priced options at the on site restaurant. They also have a laundry service. And the staff is great!
great location. A tuk tuk to ferry or town center was a short 10 minute ride. Right next to the lake with beautiful views. Gardens are very good. Had considered AirBnB (Balam Ya) but glad that I stayed at Hotel Atitlan because of access to town center. Reviewers had complained about hot water - I had no issues. Taxi to airport arrived exactly on time.
Hospedaje el Viajero is located very conveniently in the heart of Panajachel. They also have a few parking spots that you can reserve in advance with a small payment.
The staff is kind and the rooms and clean.
Despite being in the center, you can easily sleep and the night is quiet to get good rest - as well as you could go out for drinks.
We LOVED this hotel! The room was great, beds were comfy, nice shower. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated with murals and the gardens are amazing. Breakfast was outstanding. The staff were really friendly and helpful too. Location is right across the road from the main shopping and restaurant strip.
Excellent location. Great staff. Better than the last hotel we stayed at in Panajachel. The restaurant was great to have on location instead of going out to the nearby breakfast places. Most breakfast places do not open till 9 AM so the fact that Utz Jay's restaurant opens at 7 AM was great for us.
Good cheap accommodation in a good location. The staff were very friendly and helpful and were able to advise me on how to get to El Salvador. They also sorted the shuttle for the first leg of the journey towards Guatemala City
Breakfast was also included which was a bonus
When we got there the front office guy was sleeping lol the attendants were helpful.
Best part is the proximity to Calle Santander, lake Atitlan is a few blocks down, the breakfast is delicious.
Th gardens and grounds are amazing, close to downtown Panajachel but without the noise. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. The this a boat latch from the hotel that is very convenient.
As pov from a local (Guatemalan) this is mostly a good place talking about location and what you get for the amount you are paying. A great place to get some rest after visited Lake area.
Comfy bed, clean. A proper hotel.
All the balconies seem to face the lake which is great.
There is a small gym which is good enough for weights exercise.
The pool is ok too.
Quiet, clean, wonderful host, nice pool, some reviews said it was heated and it isn't but I enjoyed it anyway. Lots of space to park which is a luxury in Guatemala.
I was so happy with our stay! He could not have been more friendly and helpful! We stayed at multiple places in Guatemala and the customer service here was best.
