Amazing breakfast, special credits to Mrs Dora for the handmade pies and cakes! Fresh juice and eggs.
Mrs Nadina the owner is very nice and friendly, giving good advice.
The beach nearby is good despite the waves and the fact that the village is nothing special.
Overall a good experience!
The beachfront Ostria Hotel Kakovatos is set on Kyparissia Gulf and offers direct access to the organized beach of Kakovatos.

The hotel is right on the beach - you can hear the waves and smell the sea at all times. It was clean, the staff was very welcoming and auxiliary and there are many tavernas nearby for you to choose. The matress/pillows were great and there is even a small fridge inside the room to keep you water cool. Breakfast was also very good, with many choices. Price was more th0an reasonable! I would definitely reccomend the hotel!
Hardly 200 metres away from the well known beach of Zacharo, lie the studios and apartments of Olympion Village. It offers free wireless internet.

This was our third stay at Olympion Village Studios. We decided to make this our regular, yearly vacation place. The hosts are amazing, friendly, and helpful and we feel like we're back home each time we stay here.

A great stay with even greater hosts. Giannis and Asimina are the most hospitable and friendly hosts and, obviously, a great source of information for what to do around the area. They have done a great job at building a welcoming and relaxing environment which families will greatly appreciate.
Extra bonus points for the cute dogs (Koko and Drapetis) and chickens in the farm.

Zacharo is really, really Greek and there seemed to be absolutely nothing happening. I figure you have three alternatives to fill your time: swim or stare at the sea during the day, sit at a cafe and gossip at night, or get through War & Peace.

Zakharo is a small town near Kakovatos the little village where the Ostria Hotel Beach is located indeed. Zakharo is fantastic. The town's activity is between a beach town with restaurants, cafés, stores and an agricultural town with a lot of trucks and tractors crossing by. The bus station is not far from the center.
I also walked on the Beach until the Ostria Hotel. It is quite a long walk. There are a few restaurants, the sunset is amazing.

Zakharo is a small village near the coast.
Zakharo is a small village near the coast. It has all the essentials (super markets, restaurants, coffee shops etc), so one can spend his stay there without the need to move to other places. However, there are no much activities you can do with the kids, so it would be wise to pick a hotel that offers kids activities. The beach is quite nice and sandy, however if the wind is Western, the waves will be high enough to prevent you from swimming. The food was really nice in almost all the restaurants we visited and the prices quite reasonable. If I would visit the broader area again I would choose to go to a place with beaches facing South, as western winds are the most common in there and create high waves to almost all beaches.
We stayed in Zacharo in the house of Nondas and Dionyssia for 2 weeks. It is hard to imagine more hospitable and friendly people. The house is amazing, everything is thought out to the smallest detail. Photos cannot convey the coziness and convenience of this house. There is absolutely everything you need. Once again, many thanks to our hospitable hosts. We really hope to come back again.
Clean and well located hotel. Loved the eclectic choice of furniture and the many lush plants spread all over the place. Despite being in the centre of town, it has a calming energy. The hosts are wonderful, and the breakfast is not to be missed!
laidback and very friendly family hotel. If you have small kids joy is quaranteed, sit by the pool and watch them play :) moreover: you can play football, volleyball, badminton, basketball, tabletennis, pool :)
Great location for a relaxing stay, beach and sea are beautiful. Also a good base for visiting Olympia. Lovely hotel, sea view from balcony. Breakfast was great as well.
The staff were extremely friendly and hospitable . Extremely informative and accommodating.
I would definitely recommend the hotel to family and friends.
