Location was perfect. Within walking distance of the centre and near Lixouri ferry. However we only stayed the one night so couldn't comment any further on the area. It is very good value for money if you're looking for somewhere nice clean to lay your head.

The owner was kind and available for any need. The room was cleaned on a daily basis. Parking available. We had available a "shared" broom to dry the floor after the shower. The mattress was very comfortable.

Ammos Villa was perfect for our first trip to Kefalonia. Fantastic, spacious rooms and great location. We loved the private pool and the open plan living. We enjoyed visiting the bars and restaurants which are just a short walk from the property in either direction. Property was very quiet and very well equipped. Great communication from the host and very responsive.

I spent two wonderful weeks in this house. We are a family with 3 children and we all felt very well. Nancy is an extraordinary and kind host, she was careful not to miss anything, she came every 3 days for cleaning.
When we arrived we found vegetables from his garden in the fridge and he often brought us small tasty snacks.
We really liked the yard, which is very beautiful, with olive trees, bougainvillea, leander, a ficus, vine and vegetable garden.
It is located in a pleasant and quiet area, you can hear cicadas during the day and crickets at night. The children were very excited that they had somewhere to run and play. A tree house is set up for small children.
The house is clean and equipped with everything you need. And the kitchen is well equipped. We didn't miss anything. What I really liked is the fact that the beds had many pillows and were very comfortable. We all slept very well.
We were sorry that the two weeks passed too quickly and we are already thinking of coming back here in the following years.

Charming and somewhat unspoilt Greek Town. The quayside is very pretty with lots of Tavernas to choose from enjoying great views of the bay and mountains beyond.
Gets busier around the lively central square with variety of bars, restaurants and shops to choose from. Very Mediterranean feel with all age groups out and about enjoying themselves.
During the evening the road is closed so pedestrians and restaurant staff can walk around freely. Ample free parking either end of the pedestrian zone.
There's also a ferry to Argostoli which runs every 30 mins and takes 20 mins which is very handy - wish we had a chance to do this as Argostoli is worth the visit.

Been to Kefalonia twice before but enjoyed Lixouri far more...
Been to Kefalonia twice before but enjoyed Lixouri far more than Skala or Lassi. Lovely laid back feel to the seafront restaurants on an evening. Good selection of restaurants and bars. Was cheaper to eat out than cooking for yourself. Highly recommended. Hired a boat for 2 half days to explore around the bay and found private coves etc.

Great place for couples and families who want a relaxing...
Great place for couples and families who want a relaxing time. The town has many good restaurants like Pizza Paradiso, Gonia. Gefira and others. The central square is a very lively place with many children and a vibrant atmospere. Also a nice sandy beach close to the center with a canteen, lounges and umbrellas at a reasonable price. The Lixourian beer is also a must.

We will never stay on the Argostoli part of Kefalonia again now that we discovered Lixouri!!!
Beautiful place.
This town is a small working town with nothing pretentious. People were friendlier and more down to earth.
Food was great quality and much more reasonably priced than in Argostoli and surrounding resorts.
Get a car though as the best beaches you will ever see in your life, are a short drive away.

We absolutely loved Lixouri - slower paced, relaxed and quieter than Argostoli.
Very easy to walk around, even for my arthritic joints.
Although we arrived during a heatwave so spent most days on the beach or in the sea, we spent the evenings in Lixouri, eating out at the local tavernas and meeting the loveliest locals.
The food was excellent (highly recommend Akrogialis for authentic cuisine, excellent, friendly service and very fair prices)
Emily’s gift shop was great as were many of the others.
Scarabee has exquisite jewellery and local art.
(Also, sampling the ice cream at ‘I scream’ is a must!)
Seeing the turtles just nearby in the port during most evenings was a huge bonus.
We plan to return to Kefalonia as soon as we have saved up to have 2 weeks next time - 1 week was just a start for us 💜
And we will be staying on the Paliki peninsula again.
Highly recommend if you want a relaxing holiday in paradise.

It was a great combination of a wonderful place to go for a holiday but also having a permanent population so it was a real place and not just somewhere only open for tourism in the summer. There ar many great beaches nearby and great wineries. We ate at several restaurants and were happy with the quality and price, only the ice-cream was over priced but at least it was nice. The ferry connection to Argostoli is also nice so you really have two towns in one!
We are two pairs of friends. We rented Villa Louque in Loukerata di Lixouri (Kefalonia) through Booking.com from the morning of August 29 to September 7, 2022.
At the time of booking, the premises were excellent: a large house for the four of us with a double bedroom and an independent bathroom available for each couple plus an equipped kitchen to feel free to prepare breakfast and sometimes dinner according to our tastes and desires. Plus two other rooms we don't use as bedrooms. There was also a large living room with TV. And a garden.
One of the best villas we have ever stayed at. Everything is absolutely perfect from the lovely pool to the view from the terrace to the modern and well equipped kitchen and bedrooms. The hosts are super helpful and welcoming and helped us have a fantastic stay in Kefalonia. Loved being able to walk into the town for dinner / lunch and our son loved the quick ferry across the bay to Argostoli. Lots of beautiful beaches and places to visit very close too. Cannot recommend Ionian Village more!!!
Beautiful location if you are looking for calmness and peace. The beach is just a stone throw away! It's a family run hotel and they are really wonderful people including the support staff (cleaners & cookers). Our room was cleaned every day and we actually felt that we were family guest rather than ordinary hotel clients. Thank you so much Natalia including your hard working twin daughters, husband and myrtos. You all made our 10 day stay very memorable.
It is a good choice if you are on a budget. Shared balcony but had it to myself. It is great if you are out all day exploring and to use this as a base, which is what i did. Lixouri at night comes alive with plenty bars and restaurants and quite buzzing and to drive around this area of kefalonia with the beaches and scenery is quite stunning and beautiful and unspoled
