A lovely quiet family run hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful. If there was anything one needed such as the makings of a cup of tea,it could usually be provided by reception.
If you are looking for somewhere in the midst of noisy nightlife, this is not the place for you. We stayed two days and it was very peaceful. We drove there and so had a car to explore the surrounding area. Polyrrhinia is well worth a visit.
The breakfast if not included can be bought for €10 per person and is well worth it.
I gather the hotel was the first in Kissamos, built in 1979, Galini means ‘peace’ in Greek, and it’s absolutely the right name for the hotel. It is on the edge of Kissamos, go visit before it all changes.

I can only say that our stay was exceptional.
I highly recommend the apartment on the ground floor for people travelling with kids: spacious, bright, direct access to the pool. The owner will do everything to make your stay easy and comfortable! We were provided with a travel cot and a baby chair. Kitchen is well equipped, rooms can get fully dark even during the day, and all doors are new - these are all small elements that make a huge difference when travelling with a baby!!
Breakfast is rich in selection and coffee/orange juice is fresh.
We can’t wait to come back to Crete and to this property!

Kavousion is on a ridge above a plain covered with olive groves and hothouses growing tomatoes and cucumbers, close to the wonderful beach at Falasarna. In itself, it is nothing special as a village but its easy access to that beach is what makes it special. It is only a 3 kilometre drive to the beach but being located up above the plain means it gets the evening breezes and is much cooler.
