We spoiled ourselves for a few days during a heatwave and this is the place to do. Total luxury, beautiful quiet air conditioned rooms overlooking the sea and with magnificent mountains behind… and of course two magical pools to laze by all day. Great breakfast, good restaurant, not crowded at all. Friendly staff. At times it felt like we had the entire place to ourselves.

This stay was purely for transfer to the airport the next day, so just needed a bed for the night and a taxi to the airport the following day
However I have stayed in Kalamata many times before, and it is a wonderful city for a short break, with a great choice of lively cafes and eateries on the seafront.
The traffic is lighter along the seafront than in most Greek cities; Kalamata feels safe to walk around at night and in the daytime there are some interesting historic areas and museums to visit.

Kalamata is a fantastic place but it does take a while to become familiar with it. We've been on many occasions and we prefer to take the bus in (from Stoupa) because we find driving in Kalamata quite stressful. This is not because of the Greek drivers who are very courteous but more because we are not too familiar with the roads.
Our favourite place to visit is the market, which is on Saturdays and Wednesdays and it is fantastic. The quality, selection and price (and especially the price) are fantastic. The bus station is just across the road from the market so not far to walk.

Kalamata is a great small city in the Peloponnes, which caters for every interest. It has a some historical places, a beautiful old town with tradtional shops, an amazing coast with beaches, super clean water, very good and afordable restaurants and bars and a great ambiance. A city which you can explore easily by foot.
Further it can be used as a base for some of the most interesting places to visit in the Peloponnes like Mani, Mystras, Koroni, ancient Messene, the Apollon Temple and a lot more.

What an absolutely amazing growing metropolis!
What an absolutely amazing growing metropolis! Safe, secure, welcoming, fashion oriented, health conscious residents and simply a pleasure being around.
Simply attending a town square on any given night will be demonstration enough to illustrate the hospitable welcoming people of Kalamata with children of all ages playing with each-other, (no phones included, LOL), laughing, talking as kids should!
Everyone is not only healthy, but fit. It was astonishing that we struggled with my wife to find any unfit person in hundreds of people, especially the kids in town!
Bravo Kalamata... you are doing things right!
Fantastic location perched on a hillside above the Messinian gulf and lots of balconies and sitting areas to take it all in. Up a winding, one-track, road from the coast (arrive before dark!) but once you make it there is lots of parking. Had a studio apartment which was one big room with a sitting area, bedroom and kitchen. Staff was very friendly and even helped us with our laundry. We were there in April so Kalamata was still quiet but this was our spot to chill in the middle of the trip and worked perfectly for that. Definitely recommend!
+ coffee break kit( lots of jams, croutons, cream for each guest and lots of Greek coffee)
+Friendly host and his wife. They both explain everything about places in Kalamata and local things. They also give us advice where to go and that to see
+Place and view
+Privacy
+Sun protection (theft as well) on the windows and dors
+Fully equipped backyard which gives a good expression
+Safe place and good neighborhood (very quiet as well)
+Good furniture and a full kitchen
I liked everything about the hotel. Just to name a few examples:
-very nice staff
-high quality interior and exterior
-spacious rooms
-location right on the seafront
-wonderful view to the sea
-parking place in front of the hotel
-the terrace on the 5th floor overlooking the sea is very enjoyable
-the breakfast, lunch and dinner were delicious
It's our favourite hotel whenever we travel to Kalamata.
The whole team is doing a great job! Congratulations!
Although the location as it appears in google maps appears to be at the end of the city - at least this is what I thought - the hotel is located very close - 2-5 minute walk from the center square and the old town. Extremely convenient for whoever wants to get to know Kalamata which turned out to be one of the most interesting and beautiful cities in the country. No breakfast if offered but a nice coffee shop is located next to the hotel entrance,
Kalamata is not that big but there is not much to see around the location of the hotel. You would have to go by car to the center or the main sea promenade to see some activity. However the hotel has everything above and beyond what you may need. It is a resort style hotel after all.
The building is really beautiful but the interior design of the hotel looks like an Instagram post. As a result the rooms are missing key features like wall hangers or shelves in the bathroom.
The location is probably the best in the city since you can get everywhere on foot.
Top location in the center of Kalamata. Everything in the city can be reached by foot and the historical center is just 5 min. walk away. The busstop for the beaches (Line 1) ist just ouside the hotel (1.30 € one way payable in the bus,10 min ride). Will stay there again.
well situated on the beach in Kalamata, and close to the location of the wedding we attended. Nearby parking lot meant I didn’t have to hunt for street parking. Staff was friendly, one even brought my hat out to the parking lot when I forgot it at checkout.
We booked 2 rooms. We didn't stay at the hotel after discovering what appeared to be dead bed bugs on the sheets of room #2. We arrived at around 4pm and left at around 7pm. I booked the hotel because I have stayed there in the past and liked it.
Amazing breakfast! A hotel full of happy surprises!! the location was excellent the staff was really friendly helpful and willing to fulfill all our needs!! would come back to Kalamata just to stay at this beautiful and historical hotel!!!
The hotel is right on the beach, but the beach is just a narrow strip of gravel. All rooms have sea views. Umbrellas and sunbeds are free. The air conditioning works very well. Breakfast was good.
Amazing refurbished hotel in the center of Kalamta, with parking. So much thought was put into details and amenities. Great breakfast, including espresso, capuchino fresh fruit.
A big hotel complex on a slope with great views over the bay of Kalamata. Very stylish, with all comfort, big rooms and balcony. Very good breakfast. Big parking, outside pool.
