Great location 5 minutes walk from the port. The room was very clean and cosy. Hotel Halaris is family run and they all make you feel very welcome with every interaction. In particular Anna was very knowledgeable about the area and its history. She spent a lot of time with us recommending places to visit and where she would recommend us to eat.

The accommodation is exceptional; a feeling of space - owing partly to the high ceilings - and of quality. Very modern, stylish fittings and we had a sea view with a small balcony; also, located right on the front in the centre of town. It all made for a very pleasant stay.

As the capital of Cyclades - Ermoupoli is the best location to remain both for a holiday on the island, but also for travelling around: to Mykonos, Tinos, Paros, Santorini, etc. There are daily ships that can offer the possibility to travel as with the bus :)
I am coming the 3rd time here and I would definitely get back: this is like a second home.
There are lots of restaurants, my favourite: JAR - for breakfast, Archontariki, Seminario, Ιθάκη του Αή - for lunch or dinner, and of course MAZI - for fine dining.
If you want to cook and stay in - there are close supermarkets that offer a choice for everyone.
On place you have access to everything and you can enjoy both the city life, and also only at 4-5 km away - the village life.
If renting a car - you can wander around and enjoy the island's beauties: more than 10 beaches to see and enjoy the sea :)
Definitely - Ano Syros is the jewel - and only at 10 min away from the centre of Ermoupoli.

Best place to stay on Syros. So much to see and do. Great restaurants, swimming spots, Venetian inspired architecture, Greek orthodox and Catholic churches with communities around them. Fabulous shopping, artisan and traditional shops, best stationery shop ever. Very easy to while away a few days in this city (I think it's a city?) with a vibe that's unusual for a Greek island. It was the main port before Piraeus and is the capital island of the Cyclades. Definitely recommend. Also recommend you go to the North part of the island as well as Ermoupoli. Total different vibe. Spectacular walking, fab tavernas if you can find them!

Ermoupoli is a typical 19th century Greek urban city with beautiful houses and amazing churches, stone paved roads. It is not the typical white small houses of the rest of the Cycladic islands. Ermoupoli is a vibrant city which is active all-year round and rich in culture and heritage.

Lovely busy harbour front with lots of excellent and reasonably priced restaurants. Everything is within walking distance in the town. It was not particularly touristy and most of the visitors were Greek from the mainland. A hidden gem.

Ermoupolis retains the neoclassical aristocratic air of another era. Walk in the streets , visit Apollo theatre , visit Ano Chora but use the free bus line. The view from up there is incredible. Walking down is not that difficult. A visit of the St. Nicolas church is a must. The marble temple is a work of stunning work. The streets behind the main sea road are full of restaurants offering a wide choice from budget souvlaki to gourmet food. We had amazing food at Seminario restaurant .
First off this hotel is very eclectic and playful. It is located a short five minute drive from the coast and very central to many things. Constantine is the receptionist/concierge and he was definitely one of the best things about our stay. He had a very personable vibe, and was kind enough to give us top most room which has its own private terrace. Breakfast is included and you can order as much as you want off the menu and everything is delicious. Recommend a car so you can drive to all the historic sites.
Naves Suites is located on the port front in the city of Ermoupolis. It is surrounded by great restaurants, bars and shops - everything is just a short walk away. Given that we travelled during shoulder/low season, the hotel kindly upgraded us to their best room, which is definitely worth the price and we would book this room if we return. The property was well maintained and our room was cleaned every day. They provided complimentary drinks and snacks. It was a great stay.

The rooms are very close to Ermoupolis just a 4 min walk away from everything.
Quiet environment extremely kind personnel.
They even managed during peak time to extend our stay for 1 night.
Most of all they greeted us with happiness and made sure our 4 legged friend is comfortable at all times.
Daily clean was more than appreciated.

The location is right on the center of Ermoupoli. This allowed us to walk around the city and explore each corner. It was a delight as spring has come.
Katia and Yiannis were amazing! They welcomed us warmly and made us feel more than just guests to their hotel. We really thank them for that! They gave us insights for great food and sightseeing of the island.

A lovely, generous and welcoming hotel! The staff were absolutely wonderful people. When I got sick and had to go to the hospital during our stay, they were very kind in helping us find the right hospital and help that I needed. The surrounding city of Ermoupolis is beautiful and authentic, without that obvious tourist touch that some cities/towns carry. Overall, definitely worth taking a trip to Syros and staying at this cozy and intimate hotel!
The studio is in a fantastic location with a commanding view over the town of Ermopouli and the wider bay. Beautifully designed and superbly equipped, it was an ideal base for a week on Syros! The hosts, Manos and Lora, were so kind and welcoming: Manos even gave us a free tour of the island for my wife’s birthday! And the cleaning lady came almost every day to tidy up and replenish the supplies for breakfast. So it was better than a hotel.
The hotel is right next to the port and quite central so you can walk anywhere in ermoupoli. There are so many shops/stores/restaurants/you name it nearby which is very convenient. The staff are quite friendly and helpful.
The room itself is slightly small and the shower space is tiny. You can hear ferries as they approach the port but besides these minor details, the place is fantastic!
The Aristide Hotel is unique. A grand mansion from Ermoupoli’s 19th century shipping glory , beautifully restored, with thought to every detail and modern artworks curated by Oana and her sister. High above the elegant town but an easy walk both to town and to the unique swimming spot below in crystal clear water .
Nisaki Hotel is located close to Syros port, location is great as you have free parking and only 5 mins walking from Ermoupoli’s center. The view from the room was amazing and the room was very clean! Breakfast was more than OK and stuff was friendly and willing to help you!
I visited Ermoupolis for business and I consider I made the best choice. The place is enchanting in a wonderful mansion with all amenities. My room was spacious with nice furniture. It had extremely fast internet in all places. Ideal place for business trips with colleagues.
Good choice of a la carte style menu for breakfast, staff were very accommodating. Location of the hotel is great - within walking distance of everything in Ermoupoli including the bus station by the port. Stylish decor. Beach towels are available.
