The Seasons of Nickolas, hotel in Ayia Evfimia

Located in the fishing village of Agia Efimia, The Seasons of Nickolas offer a sun terrace. They feature self-catering accommodation with mountain views. Free Wi-Fi access is available in all areas.

Booking tricked me into believing that I am paying 60 euros (late September) for a room with one large bed and 2 small beds. For the record, a room with one large bed and 2 bunk beds was 52 euros and the offer stayed like that all week. When arriving at location my room had only one bed. Fortunately Nikolas was kind enough to add an extra bed without charging me anything other than the 60 euros agreed upon. The room was ok. Had a bit of a problem with the toilet basin which did not seal properly and the water ran endlessly causing the basin to start water admission every 5 minutes which was quite noisy. But this problem will probably be fixed soon. Owner was really nice. Even received a gift on departure.

Fotini, hotel in Ayia Evfimia

Located above Agia Efimia harbour, Fotini Hotel provides a furnished balcony with views of the gulf and surrounding mountains.

We had such an amazing stay at Fotini! We had a ‘garden view’ apartment which still had a sea view and lovely outdoor seating area! The room was very clean with a comfy bed and well working AC. The pool area was well maintained, cleaned everyday and was super quiet - we quite often had the whole pool to ourselves! The location is great, in walking distance (10-15mins) to the village which had many restaurants, shops and areas to swim in the see. To get to a “proper” beach was a 10 minute drive so would suggest hiring a car which we did as we were staying over a week and this gave us the opportunity to visit Asos, Sami and Myrtos beach which are all within half an hour drive. I would 10/10 recommend staying here and would love to come back!

Kefalonia Bay Palace, hotel in Ayia Evfimia

The seafront Kefalonia Bay Palace is a charming Ionian style hotel built amphitheatrically in the bustling town of Agia Efimia. It offers accommodation with breathtaking views of the Ionian Sea.

We stayed here with a large group for our wedding and Kefalonia Bay Palace were so accommodating, the facilities were great & suited our needs perfectly. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the rooms were immaculate and the pool & bar were great. The view is spectacular and unmatched in the town given the location. The layout was lovely, it didn’t feel like a hotel, more like a group of villas and apartments which meant you had privacy.

Agia Effimia is a lovely, laid back village, friendly and welcoming. It's small and that's the beauty of it, not a commercial resort, we loved it! Beaches are pebbles and small just up from the harbor. You have to travel down the road for sunbeds. It's a great base to relax and also explore, beautiful people and food, thank you!

Nothing to dislike - it's a lovely, friendly village with a pretty bay and a leisurely pace of life. Boat trips available from harbour to Ithaca were very good. Used local bus service for first time- comfortable air conditioned, very good value, punctual but not very frequent. No problems but not high season for the island when I was there. Plenty of smaller restaurants lining the harbour and we were lucky enough to catch a religious festival - procession - food - singing and dancing! Sailing groups often pull in at night.

Villa Kandia - up steep hill. Local taxi's very good. We hired scooters. Views over Sami Bay outstanding. Good location to explore rest of island. Maria very helpful - was there to welcome use at 11pm and provided pre-ordered provisions due to late arrival. Pool regularly cleaned. Plenty of local restaurants and bars.

We have returned to Ag. Efimia after 19 years (2005-2024).

We have returned to Ag. Efimia after 19 years (2005-2024). Happy to see it still keeps its quietness and charm. Some hotels developed toward the blind end of the village but not destroying the general vibe. Addition of a few supermarkets. Great central location to explore the island. Lovely little beach, great for swimming (calm waters). Mostly mid-age and older couples. A few nice tavernas and 2 bakeries. Good choice for couples for relaxation.

Beautiful island with lots of bars and restaurants, all were very friendly. We hired a bike and toured all around the island with lots of places not too far to travel to. Please stay at Sunrise Bay Apts as this will make your holiday even better

A small but lovely village with several amazing bakeries (...

A small but lovely village with several amazing bakeries (especially daily art with the nicest people) and strawberry bakery (open til gone midnight!). The beaches are pleasant, with white pebbles and blue sea. Very small mind, one being almost an alcove so can only accommodate small numbers of people before feeling too crowded. There are also several taverna's and a couple of gift shops too, one of which I can't remember the name of but the woman serving was a delight. It was in good distance to pretty much everything on the island really worth seeing if you haven't got a rental car; antisamos beach €30 taxi, myrtos Beach €3.60 buses, melissani cave lake €15, assos €3.60 buses (same as the ones to myrtos Beach, a bus from the village centre €1 then a minibus picks you up for €2.60 to get to both places).(all prices are lowest we could find, all single journeys). Sami is next town along but not as good as ayia effimia in my opinion. Felt like a very safe welcoming village with a good amount of ruralness, nestled in the lush green mountains of kefalonia with ample hiking trails and a bicycle hire in Sami. We ate at a taverna called the local but it didn't meet our expectations as the food wasn't amazing. Something to consider if visiting antisamos beach (scene from captain correlis mandolin) is getting to Sami for €15 then walking around the mountains, about an hours walk, to the beach on the other side. Mind the cars, but it smells of pine and has incredible views. It also saves a €30 round trip! Finally, the whole of kefalonia have so many cats, so many will come and give fuss 😺

Ideally positioned within a three minute walk from the centre of Agia Efimia. Our apartment was spacious, with two comfortable bedrooms. The whole house has good AC and last but not least, Maria, the host could not do enough to help us enjoy our time. I can’t speak highly enough of her advise, friendly chat and local knowledge! Her husband Dionisis was very helpful as well. This is a fine example of a warm and well run family run business.

This hotel deserves every praise for its quiet location, comfortable and big rooms with every detail and price/performance balance. In addition, the attention and care of the hotel owners and the importance they give to cleanliness changed our prejudice towards apart hotels, we can say that we were more comfortable here than any hotel. We highly recommend it especially to the families.

The hotel provided a lovely breakfast with a good choice of fresh fruits and local products, juices and tea or coffee. The location is ideal for reaching the harbour and cafes and restaurants and is an easy, enjoyable walk to the beaches of Agia Efimia. The owners were very helpful and accommodating, friendly and genuine.

The location is second to none, although apartments on the other side of the block are close to the main road in/ out of Agia Effimia. There’s a beautiful terrace/ gardens for all guest to use. Stavros and his team worked so hard to make the short stay perfect.
