Nice location, easy to get to the all the sites in the Brecon Beacons and black mountains. Four Waterfall walk was amazing as well as climbing the Pan Y Far mountain - all within easy reach of Ystalyfera. Also a trip to Tenby Beach is a must.

Genuinely, there wasn't anything I disliked about Ystalyfera. It has some lovely independent shops and is only a five-minute drive from the Brecon Beacons National Park. And a visit to the Chameleon Cafe is a must!

The staff were accommodating especially the head chef who went out his way to make us feel welcome and accommodated. There was no gas the 1st night we stayed which resulted in eating else where because the pub/hotel worked off a gas pub, so the restaurant was out of action for mainly hot food. The 2nd night totally made up for the 1st, the food was absolutely gorgeous although there was a wait time, we didn’t mind waiting the food was worth it.

3 of us stayed in a 3 bed room and it was plenty big enough. The facilities were great and we had a massive shared balcony. We had a booked a meal one evening and everything about that too was great. Breakfast was included in our rate and was huge. We were able to arrange a slightly earlier start as we had to be away on course early. The hotel were happy to do that which was really appreciated. Plenty of free parking.

The cottage its spacious and simply charming...me and family loved the view ! It was breathtaking! The shower was amazing and the double bed was very comfortable. Our kids slept on the two single beds and the one with the frame has to be replaced, please ! It was noisy and the wooden slats kept on coming off. A bit frustrating...a part from that, we loved our stay and felt in love with Ystalyfera's views! Thanks !

Everything was just perfect and Julia the best host ever. The location was stunning, close to the BMW Off-Road School I was attending. Breakfast out of this world in the conservatory looking out over the incredible Beacon Beacons. Why would anyone want to stay in a hotel when you get this standard...right down to the duck eggs fresh that morning from the farm itself. Just absolutely wonderful.

The staff are helpful and friendly, our room was spacious, the location is excellent and the breakfasts are very generous. Perfect to set you up for a day exploring the beautiful countryside on the doorstep. The river that runs directly outside the hotel is beautiful and there is a lovely decking area that overlooks it, which we loved.
