Samphire Ark 900, hotel in Waterlooville

Such a great spot to spend a weekend. The Ark had everything we needed all of which was high standard. The lazy continental breakfast provided by Steph sitting on the pontoon watching the birds and boats was a particular highlight. A great spot to walk from too !

Waterlooville itself is not a particularly exciting or attractive place but the accommodation for someone wanting to stop in a reasonably priced venue within striking distance of Chichester won’t find anywhere much better.

Waterlooville unfortunately has gone downhill, when I lived there in the fifties it was the most beautiful village but now well! , I moved from there three years ago and it still is awful not much change. Sorry for the review but I have to be truthful.

Good location for access into Portsmouth and visiting local attractions the town itself doesn't have much appeal but its convenient for M27 and A3M and has some nice food outlets and out of town shopping. Lots of historic places within 20 minute drive and great views of Portsmouth and Meon Valley from portsdown Hill x The George on portsdown Hill has amazing food and great selection of beer and is lovely and cosy . Recommend steak and kidney pudding and ham/egg/chips . Portsmouth historic dockyard and spinnaker Tower is a must see and the Forts are really interesting. Book buffs may also enjoy Chawton where you'll find Jane Austen museum

Waterlooville used to be a good town to visit, but we did have relatives that lived nearby, so that was our primary reason for visiting. Over the years we have noticed the number of shops that are closing down, but it is simple to get to Portsmouth or Gunwharf Keys

It was close to the people we were visiting.

It was close to the people we were visiting. We didn't see many people on the street, but lots of fairly empty buses rushing up and down the road. The little we did see of the street at 73's end seem to contain a lot of estate agents and takeaways.

A busy town, 20 mins north of Portsmouth, plenty of shopping, a big Sainsburys and a lot of places to eat. Some 50kw and 7kw EV charge points in town. Use Google Maps or Waze to navigate the roads in and out of town!
