The location was ideal for our visit to Elgol Beach and it was at the heart of the Balmacara village with a good promenade and walkaway with a nice view of the sea

Torrin is a secluded, remote location that offers true quietude and tranquility. There are a few local features and beauty spots - the natural pools, Loch Slapin, and some sea caves, for example - but in general we enjoyed the fact that it wasn’t overtly touristy and therefore was much quieter than many other places on Skye. To that end, you ideally need a car if you’d like to travel around the island and visit other beauty spots or hiking trails.

A scattered pretty village with few facilities, but in a stunning location. No mobile phone coverage. Shops in Broadford about 8 miles away. Ideal base for geology and photography; also climbing the Munro Bla Bheinn (Blaven) and two nearby Red Cuillin Hills, and walking the coastline. Beautiful Algol is only 9 miles away.

Torrin is a lovely village in a beautiful setting in the southern half of the island. Skye is a big island, so we ended up driving a lot as lot of the attractions are on the north side. Close to shops and local amenities in Broadford.

Placed in a beautiful spot, albeit out of the way. Yet the stars at night will take your breath away. We didn’t arrive until later on due to a long day and left early the next morning due to another long day! Nothing really around the place, have to drive up the one lane road to get to a small village. Yet, the place was cool.

Bed sheets on one out of the four beds were dirty and we were unable to get clean sheets. The door to the property would not stay closed and was letting the cold rain and air in. Although the view was beautiful the weather was quite cold and wet which was unfortunate. I would never recommend this bunkhouse.
