Shower recess very small. Window could not be closed to keep out traffic noise.
The Park Hotel - Where the atmosphere & surroundings are as welcoming as the food. Why not go all the way! To Caithness, the land beyond the Highlands and enjoy the hospitality at the Park Hotel.
Centrally located hotel in the heart of Thurso, ideal for business or leisure travel.

Would like to say a big thank you to James who took his time to help us with an issue with the heating in our room, and also with helping us to find some local trips and things to do, very helpful thank you.
Also a mention to Tim behind the bar very nice guy informative and very polite.

Good location and a large bar area with pool tables. We only experienced one member of staff and she was both kind and helpful. The Chalet rooms were quirky and good value.

Very easy to find just off the A9. Easy to access with key box. Free parking on the road right outside the front door.
Clean, comfortable, well equipped kitchen, large fridge/freezer, washing machine, outside washing line - no dryer (laundrettes with dryer across the road). Nice outside sitting area at the back! Easy to walk to shops, river, beach - co-op 2 mins away (a little noisy at 5 am with deliveries if sleeping in main bedroom) excellent fish and chip takeaway opposite the house!
Short drive to Castle of Mey (worth a visit) and John O’Groats!
Would definitely stay again if visiting the North of Scotland!

We only stayed here one night so was passing through, but did use a local garage to fix our car, so while car was in the garage we took the opportunity to get get the train to Buora. The gardens in Thurso was nice and people friendly. Hotel was central but needed updating, and food in the bar for evening and morning breakfast was yummy!

Compact wee town centre with a big Co-op supermarket.
Compact wee town centre with a big Co-op supermarket. People seem genuinely friendly & helpful. A train & bus station, nice beach & Scrabster nearby for ferries to Orkney. Good base for exploring round about & into Sutherland too for the beautiful golden sandy beaches an hour or so away at Armadale, Bettyhill, Torrisdale & Coldbackie. Lots of Stone Age relics to explore too.
A lovely but long journey up by train. Takes about 4 hours from Inverness. Only issues were leaving Thurso by public transport to catch links from Inverness to go further south as just 4 trains a day & nothing after 4.28pm weekdays. No buses seemed to leave Thurso for Inverness after 11.50. Buses take around 3 1/2 hours to Inverness. Good to book taxis as far in advance as possible as get booked up fairly quickly.

Hotel position and friendly staff were good, but the online description of the hotel and facilities was not accurate. Very disappointing.
- room not serviced for three days
- initial room smelly and mouldy
- had to ask for soap and toilet paper
- advertised food items for breakfast not provided
- bath leaked
- no phone in room

Some of the best place to eat in UK.
Some of the best place to eat in UK. Outdoors is its selling point, if King Charles III has a holiday retreat nearby it must be the best in the World. Winter nights are dark and cold with limited night life.

Excellent place to go and the drive there was same as saw so much and I had been saying for Years I should go there and now I have I have recommended to Others and be back with Family again soon. There is something for everyone in Thurso.
Bank house is a converted old bank. The rooms are generous and high ceilinged. For the first time ever, I have now stayed at a hotel supplying an electric blanket. The hosts are great, warm and friendly. The breakfast omelette was delicious as was the actual decent toast, made from proper thick crusty bread with bits in! 😋
Bank house doesn't do evening food and Google will direct you to Thurso but actually there are two other hotels , one practically next door, open to non residents in their restaurants.
Not sure what my expectations were, but Forss House far exceeded them. This is no ordinary hotel, but more of a stay at an upscale country house. We ended up staying an extra night and would definitely come back. The staff treat you like VIPs at all times, so was very relaxing and they cheerfully helped with several simple special requests. Dinner on site is exceptional quality if a bit pricey. Breakfast amazing. The grounds have a number of excellent walking paths/exercise opportunities.
Not much really………very basic. Staff were pleasant but the hotel had no atmosphere. Better described as a pub with rooms and even had the restaurant been open I am not convinced the food would have met the standard that the menu led you to believe would have been available………staff absence had led to the closure of the restaurant on the night we were here so it was not the best time to evaluate facilities.
Lovely cozy cottage, great host, who had coffee and gave us information on the area, locals very friendly, great place to explore and try a little sea fishing off the rocks.
I'd you want silence rainbows and comfort I would recommend this place we hope to revisit next June
Two log burning fires provide ample heat all day if you can't be bothered with the fires there is also toast radiators
My family always stays at huge corporate hotels while traveling, so it was a very pleasant change to travel with my partner for the first time and experience a small lodge that makes you feel like welcomed family guests and personalizes each breakfast meal hot and fresh for you. It was exactly the experience I was looking for on my trip!
Despite being a hotel, the twin room we had appeared to be freshly painted and the bathroom clean although shower door not quite working properly. The kitchen and lounge area was clean and large. Internet worked well in that room. The property was cheap and in Thurso, handy to our ferry connection.
The Park Hotel was pleasant and comfortable, a good spot for our one-night layover prior to boarding the ferry for Orkney. The location was very convenient, easy to find, and away from the somewhat cramped center of town. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, comfy, and neat.
Friendly and welcoming from the very first. The staff here are unbeatable - I wish I could rate them 11! This is not a gimmicky, plastic, modern, luxury hotel - if you want that, go somewhere else. But if you want comfort and personal service, good food and solid value, come here.
Friendly welcome by the proprietor. Well furnished room and throughout. Lovely breakfast. The whole property was spotlessly clean. Good location with sea views. Ample parking in the area.
Would totally recommend staying at the Marine, whether for one night or seven plus.
Great location close to the centre of town. Good breakfast and we enjoyed a Sunday night roast. Very comfortable bedrooms. Easy access to Scrabster for the Orkney ferry and for touring the North Coast. On Saturday evening the Thurso Pipe Band plays outside the hotel.
Really nice B&B. Fantastic hosts, and a great breakfast, with a nice selection of beer as well. The room is lovely, and there is a lot of parking right in front as well. Would stay here again if I'm in Thurso!
Older style hotel but they are obviously making efforts to upgrade the facilities. Comfortable room with everything I needed. Good value and very friendly staff. Good location right in the centre of Thurso.
We stayed at the Station Hotel on our way back from the Orkney. The location is ideal for an early train. We had a comfortable, spacious family room. We enjoyed a great Brea before we left. Thank you.
Colin, the night manager. He prevented us from giving up on our first hotel room and leaving. But the second room had a busted tv, so it wasn’t that much of an improvement.
Absolutely stunning views of rural Thurso! Welcoming and warm country living appeal. Interacting with the beautiful highland cows was one of the highlights of our trip.
Located on NC500 route the hotel is perfect choice for overnight stay. Next to Thurso beach walk path to enjoy spectacular view . 10 min walk from local Lidl shop.
One of the best places I have stayed in UK
Extremely well equipped with all the cutlery and board games as well . The property was clean and excellent stay
