We stayed in the Llechwedd Glamping tents as we wasn’t able to stay at the hotel.
We were very happy with our accommodation, it felt like we were staying in a cabin as opposed to a tent!
It was clean, warm and very comfortable.
The beds were lovely, the shower was fab and we had a fully equipped kitchenette where we cooked some lovely meals.
As there’s no TV, we played board games and cards which was great as these days too much family time can be spent on phones or television/films. We had breakfast on our own terrace and walked our dogs on the Quarry paths early in the morning.
Watching the zip lines across the quarry was fun too!
We had our own log fire which was a lovely treat of an evening whilst playing chess.
Highly recommended.

The place was superb and very near to walking areas around Ffestiniog areas. The home was clean and the amenities were excellent. I think I would still go back if the amenities and prices would still be the same next year.

Our stay at Yr Hen Farcdy was the most cosy and hospitable B&B we had the pleasure of staying at on our tour of Wales. Mike and Sue are the most amazing hosts and made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. They have a wealth of information to share about the area and can point you to all the best attractions. Our accommodation was perfect and provided everything we needed. The magical garden setting is such a peaceful surrounding and make the place very special.
The breakfast was outstanding and delicious and we felt it was one of the best breakfasts of our trip. We can highly recommend Yr Hen Farcdy and would definitely return.

The cottage was very nice of the road and up a side road on the right of country lane, lovely gardens around property, nice stone/ slate cottage the kitchen was nice and the back entrance was really good the shower was great as well, we like the front room old fashion fire place and the wifi was handy.
The stairs to bedroom was vey narrow and the steps are very shallow needed the rope rail to help going up and down, The bedroom was brilliant plenty of room big bed, but the wardrobe was only one side open and the cleaner had her stuff in one side and a henry hoover in the other one so no room for hanging clothes.
The main road for leaving the cottage way to fast vehicles traveling to fast and close nearly had an accident and it was really hard to cross the road as well cars traveling way to fast.
Place to see is good if you had a car, no sign of a bus in the area when we was around, the pubs food was nice but way to expensive for us £30 Ahead, my pint of Guinness was £5.50 and the car fuel was 1.55 a liter, We found in Porthmadog a lovely cafe for breakfast and lunch that was nice and Tesco near by as well.
Snowden way to expensive £35 single trip no sub for OAP once at top only 30 mins stay for return or walk down take 3-4hrs we tried to walk down buy i fell and injured my knee and both my hands in the fall as it was very wet and slippery, had to pay another £35 each to return backs if you are going to do it think about getting a return ticket it be £45 each.
Unfair for my partner she could have try by herself to walk down but in the end i had to get back down i could not walk any more, they should have a plan if someone does get injured how to get them down or if going up as well.

Nice, fully functional, and very clean cottage.
Nice, fully functional, and very clean cottage. Very thoughtful of owners to keep Prosecco, Milk, and other items to welcome us. Hot tub was a really good addition and we enjoyed it. However, parking the car was a bit of struggle due to very narrow road to enter the property. The main parking gate was also bit difficult to close every night.

Well, it depends on what you're looking for.
Well, it depends on what you're looking for. I came for quietness and that is what I got. Tanygrisiau is just a few streets big and a good starting point for taking a hike in nature. If you are looking for a lot of pubs, bars or restaurants within walking distance, this may not be the place for you.
Within walking distance: Cwmorthin waterfall and the "mountains" of slate are great to go to. Have a breakfast at the Lakeside Cafe. Tanygrisiau is a great base to go for a drive, e.g. to Mount Snowdon via the Pen-y-Pass, a fabulous drive. Roads are in a good state.
