We stayed here for one night for a wedding, wish we could have stayed longer! Everything was fabulous, the cottage was clean, fresh and luxurious. Great facilities. We even asked the host if we could check in earlier, which was accommodated for! Can’t wait to come back!

The Bull Inn, hotel in Stowmarket

Offering a flat-screen TV, The Bull Inn provides accommodation in Woolpit. There is an in-house restaurant, which serves British cuisine and also offers vegan options.

The location was situated in a delightful village - not far from our intended place of visit - and easily accessible from the A14 motorway. The Staff were very welcoming, with an excellent breakfast served the following morning. Coupled with their "Service with a Smile", the property was well looked after, with a good sized car park and lovely gardens!

Stowmarket is a lovely little place, all the shops and supermarkets you need and in close proximity. There is also a cinema and a good choice of eateries. We visited the Suffolk owl sanctuary which we loved as we got to see them fly the birds of preyand it was not too far away by car.

Hotel was terrible restaurant closed bar closed and my room backed on to hoardings for the buiding site, was told by the receptionist that the nearest restaurants were located in the town centre approximately a 15 min walk from hotel Diabolical as no one ever advised us that the facilities were closed.

This is a difficult question as we lived there for 39 years. Nice town, plenty of coffee shops and pubs nearby that offer food. Good for food shopping, Tesco, Asda and Co op near by. Loads of country walks on the cottage's doorstep. Easy access to A14, which is on route to the coast, Ipswich and Bury St. Edmunds.

The hotel is 5 minutes from Stowmarket and 7 minutes from Needham Market. We preferred Needham Market as a country town as a bit more lively. Beautiful area and would recommend for a weekend away. We did some great walks and really enjoyed browsing some shops too. We went to Alder Call (I think it was called) nursury, just behind the high street. A lovely walk there past cottages and old bridge and had home made ice cream in the Cafe which was in the converted barn. Best ice cream ever!

I visit family in stowmarket, have always found it a warm, friendly town, quirky folk, surrounding areas beautiful, I'd avoid Ipswich which I'm not keen on at all, and go to Bury st Edmund's everytime, and felixstowe not very far away, Needham and the lake so pretty and relaxing, a lovely quaint old fashioned English village, with a great farm shop there too

Didn't see much of the town as we went for a party on the Sat evening returning home Sunday am after breakfast. Driving thorough in the cab it looked very nice and would have liked to have a wander round when we had more time.

This is not a hotel, but a historic family home. We were treated as guests, not customers. But all the facilities met our needs, so the best of both worlds. Excellent traditional English breakfast (other choices available). We had dinner one night and that was very enjoyable.

Spacious. Bedroom, lounge and separate kitchen area with dining table. Nice views of old Stowmarket streets. I was only staying one night, would better suit a short stay.
