Lovely hotel in a peaceful location, excellent dinner and friendly staff. Nice to have fresh fruit in the room, and the en-suite was excellent.

Sanquhar is a great place. Locals are very friendly and welcoming. There is a good selection of shops and cafes. Plenty of walking to be done. We loved the FUN pool: it is clean and the water is a really nice temperature. The town is an ideal base for exploring the wider area, including the stunning Galloway Forest Park.

The hotel is situated in its own grounds, a little way off the main road. It is adjacent to the local swimming pool .It has a good vegetable garden and grows it's own produce. There are lovely rural views from the windows. We didn't get the chance to explore Sanquar itself as we were just there for one night and had a full itinery. However, the town is situated in very pretty countryside. Local sites include Crawick Multiverse, which we didn't have time to visit, but other guests raved about it. Sanquar is just a few miles from Drumlanrig Castle and Dumfries House, both of which were really worth a visit, despite the poor weather we experienced. You do need to pre-book your visit to both.

Fantastic cottage well laid out and cozy.Lovely views close to stream and woods fantastic walks. Very family friendly with toy box’s full of toys and bikes in the garden shed. The owners are very friendly and helpful
Blackaddie House is small, country hotel in a quiet location. It is comfortable with friendly and helpful staff. The chef is excellent. The dinner and breakfast were the highlight of our stay. The only negative thing is that it was not possible to get a wifi connection in our room. The staff were not able to fix the problem. I had to tether my mobile phone to get to the internet. At the price of this hotel, and in this day and age, that should not be necessary.
The whole experience at the hotel was fantastic. All of the staff were so friendly. Rooms very nice with a good bathroom and powerful shower. A group of 16 of us met up for a suprise 75th birthday for one of our group. The hotel did us proud. Good breakfasts. Superb evening meals, all served together. The bar was very welcoming. Had good banter with the locals.
A big thank you to all of the staff at The Nithsdale Hotel.😀😀👍.

Dave, the owner is very kind and welcome, .. when we arrived, he asked for breakfast menu for us and ensure our menu do not content beacon or pork as we are moslem, location is great Infront of pedestrian beach side... car parking also free around the hotel area at road side... very recommend, I will back in the future if I have the opportunity... thank you
It would be difficult not to love this cottage. It has so much character and charm. It is spacious and well equipped. The beds are very comfortable. The location is excellent, being in the middle of the countryside yet close to local amenities such as the wonderful FUN pool in Sanquhar. Local people are very friendly and welcoming. Host is accommodating.
It is a lovely cottage in a beautiful location with lots to see and do nearby. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay and there was plenty of space for a family of four. It was a short walk to the village which had shops, pubs, and a petrol station and the locals were really friendly. Loved the walk along the stream right next to the cottage!
Staff were very friendly, liked the Homely feel of the hotel, small and cisy in the bar area, we were impressed with the rooms, we were not sure what to expect considering the hotel star rating, we were in room 11, plenty if space and bed comfy. We had full cooked breakfast which was tasty.
The final question above stated I requested a quiet room, I didn't make this request.
The hotel was lovely, the staff were friendly and professional, making my visit very pleasant. The restaurant food was lovely too.
