Set in a converted cluster of fisherman’s houses along Portree Harbour the hotel offers plenty of character and quirks. There are 17 en-suite bedrooms with all expected facilities.

Bedrooms could do with an update/upgrade, being as you're paying the higher end of hotel prices.Having said that it was extremely clean, with lovely bedding and white fluffy towels. Food in the restaurant was excellent, location superb. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
If you are looking for luxury accommodation with great Highland Hospitality in Skye, then look no further than historic Skeabost House Hotel, a family owned boutique hotel, part of the Sonas Hotel...

Overall the hotel is a unique experience. The room had great views. The bed was very comfortable. We used the sauna and cold pool and it was a fun experience (although the same experience at a hotel elsewhere was better). The breakfast was very good, especially if you order from the kitchen, but this was not entirely clear at the beginning. There seemed to be a new dining experience from previous reviews, the food was excellent, some of the best food we had on our trip, but service was hit and miss.
With spectacular views across Portree Harbour, Coolin View Guest House is situated in Portree centre. There is free parking and free WiFi.

No breakfast, old plumbing, poor air quality, gave me allergy, probably mild and dust. Small room, view of a cement wall. Noisy every time someone used the stairs, doors slamming. The place looked shabby, unloved. Needs to be updated.
Located within 37 km of Dunvegan Castle in Portree, Rockview offers accommodation with seating area. Featuring sea and mountain views, this bed and breakfast also offers free WiFi.

Fantastatic breakfast in a cute environment. Lovely place to stay. Great location situated with a great view and close to the city centre with everything in walking distance.
On average, 3-star hotels in Portree cost £212 per night, and 4-star hotels in Portree are £255 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Portree can on average be found for £343 per night (based on Booking.com prices).
Visited in May and it was very busy. Good for access to rest of Skye. Restaurants didn't open for the full week, despite the resort being "full" (according to availability of accommodation). Also many don't take bookings so unless you want to eat at 5.30pm you have to stand outside in a queue for a table to become free.

A location for myths, legends and beautiful nature.
A location for myths, legends and beautiful nature.
Things to see and do:
1. Plunge your face in the water under Sligachan Bridge for a faerie blessing.
2. Hike up to the old man of Storr.
3. Go to the top of the Bride Veil's Falls and drink a sip for good luck.
4. Visit Talisker (Book months in advance for a distillery tour), but the visitor shop is worthwhile regardless - you can engrave a bottle or draw your own bottle from a cask yourself without a tour.
We spent more time in the surrounding areas than the actual town itself, special sites and nature. The town itself is good for a night or two, but I'd focus my efforts on the landscape of Skye instead of the inside of the shops of Skye.
Be sure to factor in opening times for certain restaurants. Most places have a "no booking" policy, so you can expect to stand in line when wanting to eat out at the recommended places.
Spots to eat that we tried:
- The Lower Deck Seafood (Queue 30min before opening time) located on the harbour side.
- The Isles Inn (Walk-in 30min before you're hungry) with live music almost every night around 21:00ish.
Spots for great coffee:
Talisker - just outside they have Caora Dhubh Coffee Company. Worth the coffee itself if you're after the best cup of coffee in Skye.

Portree is lovely.
Portree is lovely. We visited in early may and the crowds were mostly manageable. I would be a little concerned in the heart of the season. My suggestion to the powers that be would be to consider shuttle busses to the popular sites from centralized collection points; discourage rental cars from driving to the sites independently in some way. The small roads and on-site car parks can become overly crowded. We couldn't get near Quiraing for the traffic on the winding one lane road. In all other respects, Skye and Portree are lovely and a pleasure to visit.

I only spent one night in Portree so my judgement is limited. Even before the tourist season started, it was quite crowded. I can’t imagine what it must be like at the height of the season. Skye is lovely but expensive compared to other locations in Scotland.

favorite spot was driving though the Scottish highlands , we ate at it was lower deck seafood restaurant okay (do not liked their fish and chips terrible ! and don't recommend _ , but the scenery and peacefulness and landscape was heavenly
Frankly, you would be lucky to score a room in this hotel. It is very small, four rooms only, it is family run. They take exceptional care of you. The hotel is well and very creatively designed, it is exceptionally clean. The attention to detail is unparalleled. The food created by Scott is on par with best restaurants we have eaten in. And every morning you have an opportunity to discuss your dinner with him. Murdo gives excellent advise on what to do on the Isle of Skye. One of the best hotel experiences ever.
Everything! Beautiful bungalow with immaculately furnished and clean rooms (ours had a separate personal toilet and shower across corridor, but no problem at all as directly opposite and complimentary bath robe was provided!). The host couple were lovely people and so helpful with tips on places to visit and a fantastic local knowledge. The breakfasts were amazing - especially the smoked salmon & scrambled eggs which would grace any 5 star London hotel! Portree harbour a pleasant walk of only 20 minutes.
Staff are so friendly always smiling ,happy to help and very welcoming. Food downstairs in The Antlers Restaurant is lovely and helpings are good too
.Right in the central square of Portree with shops ,chemist ,pubs, cafes ,coffee shops, post office local buses, tour buses ,taxis etc just right out the front door of the hotel or a few minutes walk If you.
*Advise you to reserve your Dinner Table when making your booking .The restaurant is popular with Islanders and Holiday makers so it can be busy.
Fabulous spacious room with superb view! Comfy, clean, tasteful, well looked after. Super friendly host! Loved all the little extras: a wee dram, variety of coffees in room, quirky/fun art/ornaments etc
Breakfast was delicious and pre ordered the night before- lots of options and included buffet items too.
Parking was very easy opposite the hotel and location great to easily access Portree itself, as well as a great base to explore Skye. We had 2 nights here and would highly recommend.
Hotel is central in Portree. Had a beautiful outdoor decked seating area overlooking the harbour. Was a lovely evening to sit and watch the world go by while having a drink.
Room looked recently refurbished. Clean and comfortable.
Staff were friendly. Thanks to the lady serving our breakfast. We took up her suggestion of visiting Neist Point. A good walk to see the lighthouse. (Not so nice back up the hill. But we were warned) 😁
Out of all of our beautiful stays on our trip to Scotland, this one was our favorite. We had a delicious breakfast delivered to our room each morning and enjoyed our tea with a view right from our room. Our hosts were so kind and offered history and suggestions on what to do and where to eat in the area. The walk into town was short and scenic! We loved meeting Alex & Alan's dog Oatie too! Thanks for a wonderful stay in Portree.
Great location close to Portree, nice and clean rooms, cosy central hall with the fireplace. Great selection of drinks in the bar. Good tasty breakfast! Employees were super nice, shoutout to Emma and the guy at the bar who gave us a lot of recommendations for walks and things to see around the isle. Price is quite high given Scottish standards, but on the Isle of Skye, this is a great deal. Would certainly recommend!
Lovely little house provided with everything to make a short stay memorable. Especially appreciated the well stocked kitchen for making breakfast and the included dishwasher. Having a spot for parking the car was also quite nice and the garden had a nice view of the mountains. A bigger Co-Op was close by so getting groceries was very convenient. Portree and Skye of course need no description... Absolutely beautiful.
Room was spacious, beds comfortable, shower and bathtub were fantastic. I mean, I want that shower in my own home, it was so great. Breakfast was nice, Lance was very nice to chat with and gave us good recommendations. It was a lovely walk into town. We had dinner at the Cuillin Hills Hotel just a few steps away from the Orchard House which has the best view in town.
Adelaide’s was right in the center of Portree- so central and convenient to everything. the apartment is so cute and so clean. we have been staying in hotel rooms on our trip and it was so nice to have more room to spread our. The breakfast of pancakes, cereal, fruit, cheese and yogurt was such a treat! I would definitely recommend staying at Adelaides!
The quality of the food is superb. The hotel is beautifully furnished and offers fabulous views of Portree and the surrounding landscape.
The pods were spotlessly clean, cosy and very well appointed. We visited the sauna and plunge pool which was relaxing and invigorating.
The bar is beautiful and offers a fine range of whiskies
We really enjoyed this stay. Our room was just perfect and we also had a great view.
Parking was easy and it's just a short, pretty walk to the town.
It was great returning to our hotel after a full day of exploring and hiking the Isle of Skye.
The restaurant was perfect and the service was wonderful.
The location is great with Portree Harbour only an 8 minute walk away and a lot of visitor attractions within 30 minute drive. The property itself is spacious and a really high standard as well as having everything you would need in the kitchen. If I was heading to Skye again I would definitely book here.
Trotternish B&B was the highlight of our B&B experiences in Scotland. Beautiful scenery, lovely & spacious rooms, welcoming and charming hosts, truly amazing food and service. Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay on the Isle of Skye. Thank you for making this such a great stay for all of us!!
Staff were all very nice and we even got a free upgrade so our room had a view of the loch and the colourful hotels in Portree it was unreal! Dinner and breakfast were both top quality thanks for having us!
We loved staying in the Portree Hotel! Our room was beautiful, comfortable and clean. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and kind, and the food was delicious! We would definitely stay here again!
excellent bed and breakfast, just a short drive from Portree. Very clean, owners polite and helpful. Views from room super and everything inside and outside well maintained. Would definitely return
Was handy for walking into portree, The Decor and looked as if just done up over last couple of years. Staff were lovely and friendly and fell in love with the hotel cat
