The breakfast was first class. Dot and Adrian try to source local produce and the haggis (best we tasted for breakfast in Scotland) was great. Dot is a great host with lots of suggestions for places to visit locally. Her recommendation of a local Italian restaurant was excellent.

Craighlaw Arms Boutique B&B, hotel in Port William

Set in Kirkcowan, Craighlaw Arms Boutique B&B has a garden, shared lounge, bar, and free WiFi. The inn features family rooms. At the inn, rooms are fitted with a desk and a flat-screen TV.

A charming little B&B in a quiet village, you'll have a good night's sleep despite the room facing the road. The room was spacious, well-prepared, and had nice amenities. The hosts are attentive without being overwhelming, and there is a cozy lounge to spend the evening with some drinks. Although the pub in the same building is no longer operating, they still have a license to sell alcohol. The breakfast is decent with good coffee, though another cooked option (e.g. porridge) would have been nice.

    Charming, small seaside village.

Charming, small seaside village. Non-commercialised with basic amenities. Lovely for walking along the vast beaches in the area. Plenty to do within a short drive. We visited Logan and Castle Kennedy gardens. We also did two of the walks at Glentrool Forest Park. These were lovely. The gardens and forest visitor centre did coffee and snacks (COVID times). There are loads of things we didn’t get to do in our short stay but hopefully we will visit again.
