Everything was very well done including little but important details like real milk in the fridge. Breakfast was amazing.

The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. There was plenty of space to relax and make yourself feel at home. The shared kitchen area was also a lovely addition to our stay. We had a roast dinner at the pub and that was excellent too.

This is my third stay and it is a gorgeous hotel with spacious rooms - it could not be better situated in the centre of town near the station. There is a good free parking arrangement nearby - you need to give your number plate reg to the hotel. Comfy beds and bedding, everything works well, lots of thoughtful touches in the room, like an iron, fridge, nice lighting, generous tea and coffee supplies. The place has quite a glamorous and individual look and the staff are lovely. A good restaurant too. We stay in one of the white rooms at the top as these are quiet (so far I have visited to sit exams or study at the Uni of South Wales so quiet is needed!). If staying, be aware the ones on this floor have skylight windows that open and close easily enough, plus have pull-down blinds.
On the outskirts of Cardiff, The Bear, Cowbridge is situated in the picturesque market town of Cowbridge, 25 minutes from Cardiff Airport and with good access to the M4 motorway.

Pontyclun and the surrounding villages are set in some of the most fabulous countryside in Wales. Brilliant places to eat with options for all tastes and budget. Walks are fantastic and the people are lovely.
Highlights are The Miskin Arms a beautiful restaurant, La Luna in Talbot Green a great bar restaurant and Castle Mynach on the main road from Llantrisant.
The local Community Councils at Pontyclun and Llantrisant were very helpful and gave us advice on where we could go for coastal walks. Alison at Llantrisant copied a walk from a guide book for my husband and even wrote directions on it so we could find a free car park for our hike.
