The Brantwood Hotel, hotel in Penrith

Just outside of Penrith, the Brantwood Hotel is less than 3 miles from Ullswater. Just one mile from the junction 40 of M6 it offers en suite bedrooms and TVs.

I like the Brantwood for the staff, but it is getting rather tired especially the room we stayed in. Food is good but got wrong order, which they offered to change, but we were tired and hungry by then and didn’t want to wait.

I was travelling to Scotland , and back. My stays at Blue Swallow were one night stops. I would liked to have had a longer stay , to see more of Penrith. There are plenty places to eat in Penrith centre. The surrounding area looks lovely, with stunning scenery. Good walking area, for sure.

Great part of the UK to stop and see the surrounding villages, pubs, ruins/castles, etc Penrith seems to have a few rowdy crew late at night but I think ok, bt we went out early and returned early.

Quaint town in a convenient location for Lake Ullswater and the Lake District. Plenty of variety of restaurants to choose from. Cosy cafes, charity shops and pubs. Great food at The Lounge. Bus station, train station, and even a castle.

Beautiful town with a lot of history embedded. Places one needs to visit include Penrith Castle, Brougham Castle, Long Meg and Daughters. The cafes and restaurants at Penrith are cute and exude that family vibe. Highly recommend to do a stop-over at Penrith.

we visited Penrith as a bit of nostalgia as we used to go frequently in the past. The town was very quiet although we found a very good restaurant, GRANTS, for a delicious evening meal. It used to be a bustling market town which seems to have lost its heart . Maybe internet shopping has affected the economy of the town as is the case in many towns. It is perhaps a useful place to stay to explore the surrounding area which remains beautiful.

We used The Station Hotel as a stop off for a day trip to Scotland and could have stayed longer in Penrith as we barely took a look around. We had some dramas and it is credit to staff and management that they were able to sort booking confusions quickly and professionally. Thanks folks.

Lovely hotel in the centre of penrith. The room was lovely and clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Had the full Cumberland for breakfast the 1st morning and the scrambled egg & smoked salmon the next. Both were well presented and beautifully cooked and were delicious. We stayed in the bar one of the nights, there was some great live music and the food we ordered was fabulous, the best fish finger sandwich I've ever tasted. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Location was great for me , just beside the train station. Also the room was good for one night. Really like the bathroom, large , comfy unlike what I have seen in such kind of one or two nights hotels. Also the view over remnants of Penrith castle was nice.
