The Globe Angle, hotel in Pembrokeshire

Set in Pembrokeshire, 32 km from Oakwood Theme Park, The Globe Angle offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a shared lounge.

Location was great. It was a quiet village which allowed a nice 10 minute walk to West Angle beach. We visited both pubs which were very welcoming. The hotel had all the facilities you would want for a short stay.

We visited two beaches. Marloes Sands and Tenby.

We visited two beaches. Marloes Sands and Tenby. Marloes Sands is a very lovely beach with interesting rock formations. There was a large National Trust car park which is free to members and then approx 15 minute walk to the beach which is very pleasant with lovely views. Tenby is a very large pretty beach and similar to Cornwall. Both beaches are sandy and were very quiet when we visited in June. We also visited Skomer Island to see the Puffins and other sea birds. Absolutely stunning scenery and well worth the money as the experience will never be forgotten. The boat trip to the island was very well organised and we were given a talk about the island and the wildlife both on the boat and on our arrival on the island itself. We would have liked to visit more beaches and some castles but sadly it rained on the last two days. We had two take-aways during our stay. We can recommend Milford Curry House and the Water Garden Sea View Restaurant. Both excellent food. We would definitely recommend staying in Pembrokeshire.

Doing some family history research to make the most of the September heatwave, visited Angle and Castlemartin using Pembroke Dock as a base. As long as you have the bus times to hand, travel around is not that difficult, and taxis will take you (For a price). Angle was a lovely friendly, well spread-out village, with a fascinating church and seaman's chapel, a nice walk round to The Old Point House (pub), great views, a medieval tower house you can (Carefuly!) climb up, another pub, The Hibernia which was very pleasant, fruit and veg sales by the road, and then a good walk down to the beach and the lovely cafe there.

Such a wide variety of places to visit, ranging from busy Tenby to quiet and peaceful Llaugharne - something for everybody to enjoy. We loved the beautiful unspoilt beach of Manorbier, the castle and water mill at Carew ( and lovely cafe), south beach at Tenby and Amroth, not forgetting Colby gardens. A good relaxing holiday shared by the 7 of us.
