I have difficulty walking. The steps outside were steep especially with a case and could do with a ramp. Also need handles either side of the front door outside. Staff were helpful and opened the bar even though I was the only one there. Would go again. Tap water undrinkable.

FAQs about hotels in Llandudno

Victorian Resort with a Welsh Twist

The most popular Wales seaside resort, Llandudno covers a peninsula with 2 sandy coastlines. The North Shore’s wide Victorian promenade is lined with period buildings which now house seafront hotels and guest houses. The beach itself stretches all the way between the Little Orme and Great Orme headlands, passing an outdoor swimming pool.

A historic tram climbs to the peak of Great Orme, where Bronze Age copper mines can be visited. The top is also reachable by cable car from Happy Valley, a recreation area with gardens and an artificial ski slope.

A road runs around the base of the headland passing the historic Grand Hotel, a property available on Booking.com and overlooking the Grade II-listed pier – the longest in Wales. The West Shore is much less developed and the Maesdu Golf Course forms most of its shoreline.

Of course, Llandudno has its fair share of traditional seaside pursuits such as donkey rides and fish and chip shops.

The town also has a modern retail park near the train station and Venue Cymru event centre, and wrought-iron canopies shade smaller shops along Mostyn Avenue, Broadway and Street. The latter - Mostyn Street - is effectively the high street and becomes brightly decorated during the Victorian carnival in May.

The place is lovely lots of choice for eating out or just sitting people watching short drive to Conwy for a coffee or Ross on sea. The only thing this year was the litter which we've never experienced before that was not good it was the only disappointment. In 1927 my grandparents went to Llandudno for their honeymoon and stayed at the Grand Hotel this was the reason we visited Llandudno 3 years ago and have visited 4 times. The Grand Hotel needs a total refurbishment it's an eyesore now. We always recommend Llandudno to people of all ages. We took our daughter and nephew this year they loved it and will go back next year. Margaret Harrison

Towns excellent for shops , nice to go into shops that arnt big chains . One small road has a selection of hippie crystal type rubbish going on but with the icing on the stoners cake being a Harry Potter shop .... which was fantastic . Theres a long walk on the edge of the beach so having a prom is nice and its easy to stop off at the many hotels for a beer for errrr energy replenishment . The piers a bit crap but then arnt they all ? , the beach is a bit crap , the views a bit crap .... i could go on . Beyond this theres a large rock to mess about with and thats your lot . You can go up the rock via a tram if you so wish ( park at old road ) , walk up if feeling energetic , drive it if you like paying tolls .... At the top of the rock theres loads of other people and a hole in the ground oh and a cable car , exciting yeah . Theres also the chance of seeing butterflys and a church , almost minutes of fun for all the family . Back down the hill theres errr well theres simply no big show stopper must go to place . We amused ourselfs by popping into ``the worst reviewed hotels`` for a beer and a check out to see if they were correct or not , they were :-) . Llandudno , fine to spend a night or 2 but dont whatever you do plan a week away . Its has both NO and DUD in the title which gives it away .

We booked the Llandudno for a overnight stop off for on way to Anglesey. Pleasantly surprised how comfortable our room was. Honestly just found nobody there odd,no sights of staff, only notices instructions, to refer to post office hotels But the breakfast they did for us was excellent, would book there for my mobile needs and location level.

We went up the Great Orme using the Tram which was fun.

We went up the Great Orme using the Tram which was fun. The cable cars weren't working, but with the high wind, I can't say I wasn't surprised! The mines were good. (made me ache like mad the next day as used every muscle in my body - watch out if you're tall!) Llandudno town is on the flat, easy to walk about.. Don't rely on the cable cars being open, or the Owl Sanctuary, that was a disappointment as it was shut, to go and see the seals, you need to be into your walking, There are some great restaurants too. Mostyn Tandoori was excellent, even the Indians eat there!! We went to The Cottage Loaf pub, wonderful, and Dino's which is a burger bar, I think more the younger generation! But perfectly cooked and presented!

Set in a stunning location, Llandudno is always an attractive location. However, it shuts early. There are a couple of first-rate "tap rooms" selling locally made beer (Wild Horse Brewing) and other Welsh brews - one in town- Tapps and one at CraigY Don - Ascot, but they often close at 9pm. There are some great restaurants, but they too, all seem to close at 9pm. The search goes on. I can highly recommend the Penderyn Whisky tour, and the cable car ride to the top of the Great Orme. If it's too windy for the cable car, the tram is a lovely option to the top of the Orme.

Breakfast buffet had everything you would want for good English/Welsh breakfast. Hotel location close to the beach with great sea views, close enough to walk to Llandudno pier and to the vast amount of shops in and around the town centre. Many eating places and Venue Cymru provides theatre entertainment. The hotel staff made us feel a part of the family extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel was warm and comfortable and our en suite was a wet room. Will return one day, for now just like to say hello to Coco.

We have spent many enjoyable breaks at the Grand Hotel and as Llandudno is quite easy for us to visit we do like the area. But this is the very first time we have been really disappointed with our room 520 not up to even a fair standard. The old saying you get what you pay for certainly shot me in the foot this time. We did appreciate the staff and service we received. The new carpeting in the areas looks to be updating.

Hotel was clean and in a good location the breakfast was really good, eat all you want and the breakfast staff were lovely I like the seating area, they have a nice bar area and area out the front with table and chairs on a patio with sea views. The lift was a welcome sight. Even though dog friendly I found the hotel to be spotless maybe give the patio a jetwash to get rid of birds dirt.
