For me the breakfast was a bit lacking in the amount and possibly quality.£1 per item over the set breakfast.
The restaurant food we found good.
We had the disabled room which we found good and comfortable.

Very helpful attentive staff.
The food was all home-made & lovely.
The accomodation area above the pub looked like it had all recently been carefully decorated.
Llandovery is a Market Town. It has a nice varierty of shops and places to eat all within easy walking distance. There is a post office, several pubs and hotels as well as the shops people use for general daily living. Several are antique shops of the sort you can spend all day browsing.
The town is very local to the Brecons and not so far away of the coast or cities in West Wales and with the A40 going through it easy to get to most destinations. The A roads are excellent and the B roads aren't bad either so you have plenty of directions to travel to see the sights. There are plenty of things to see like Dinefwr Park and Castle, and Aberglasney Gardens down by Llandeilo or The Museum of Speed down by Pendine Sands. We picked up the Visitor Guide which contains a map, places to visit, events and things to do. We got ours in the hallway at the Kings Head Hotel and as it is put out buy the council should be available in many places.

Mid-Wales area is very beautiful but there is very little 'sightseeing' in Llandovery. The Llandovery Castle ruin offers an historical perspective but beyond that I would say it is more of a base to explore other areas. Lovely welcoming people and the usual collection of coffee shops and craft outlets but very little else.
There is a good welcome at The Castle Hotel ideal for a meal, drinks, coffee and overnight accommodation. Penygawse is a local coffee shop that offers a good breakfast, cakes/coffees etc. and is welcoming to walkers and cyclists.
Beautiful place, definitely recommend, amazing host, was warm in our room quiet we enjoyed the stars and breakfast thoroughly, everything was above and beyond what we expected, tamar&family were outstanding as hosts made our time exploring amazing! Would definitely come back!

You must remember. Llandovery is a small market town. There are a few interesting shops. There are also a few hotels and plenty of places to eat. Fish and chip shop, Indian, chinese. A few good and quirky, charity shops as well. Also a lot of history attributed to Llandovery. It’s also near to other attractions, that are not too far away.

We only stayed one night as we had been to the Royal Show in Builth Wells so we didn’t get to see much of the town. What we did see was lovely and quaint. The town was very quiet but there were enough places to visit. It’s very easy to get around. The next time we will book a longer stay.
We stayed at the brilliant Kings Head Inn and although the private car park is small we managed to get a place. This meant we didn’t have to worry about parking fees etc. As the pub is in the centre of the town everything was near to hand. We also ate at the pub that has a good choice of pub grub even serving real boiled potatoes which is rare for a pub as most of them just serve chips of fries. I loved it here and can’t wait to go back it seemed the perfect chilled out location.

If you want to drive the Black Mountain it is the perfect starting point.
The only places to eat in the town at night are the pubs, don't try the only indian reataurant. There are teashops but not open in the evenings.
Tamar is great and very welcoming. Put up a second bed for our daughter. This was low on comfort but did the job. Breakfast was good. Mix of continental options. Close to llandovery. Beautiful room.
lovely hotel, great on site parking, bar & lounge area cozy,
rooms comfy bit small plus bit of a walk to room through many doors and small stairs but really cozy
