The Hopetoun arms was a small country house hotel rather than pub with friendly and caring staff. I was very comfortable there as a solo traveller. Plenty of local history and an interesting village to walk around with paths direct onto the moors

Leadhills is an historic village high in the hills of Dumfries and Galloway. I came here for a motor biking adventure and I wasn't disappointed. There is plenty of info on the web so if you're not sure, get on line. I loved it

Leadhills is a small community in a beautiful setting.

Leadhills is a small community in a beautiful setting. There is a Pub and local store though Moffat isn't too far away . There is a Primary School aswell. It's an old mining village with small miner cottages aswell as a few grander properties. There is a cemetery worth looking around, lots of walks across the hills and a great place to unwind.

Leadhills is surrounded by beautiful scenic countryside. The town itself is very small and is a perfect base for walkers/cyclists/motorcyclists. We only stayed one night in Nirvana Cottage but if we had stayed longer we would have explored the other local towns.
