Excellent value for money. We had plenty of space in a newly done up room and a separate bath and walk in shower. We very much enjoyed the dinner and breakfast.

Lovely hotel adjacent to the M74 although motorway noise was not a problem even with the window open.
Staff very helpful. Freshly cooked breakfast was great.

A lovely area which provides some lovely walks of varying lengths (downloadable from the Langholm Walks website) and some interesting history. It is a quiet and peaceful and can be used as a base to visit attractions further afield.

At the junction of many roads so easy to go off exploring in different directions. Some beautiful parkland with bridges over the river - and open public toilets! Helpful tourist office with lots of leaflets. Would recommend the prehistoric trail of Eskdale but you may need boots and a bit of energy to get up the steep hills to the forts. People friendly and a useful bakery and large co-op. Lots of buses stopping so may be suitable for a visit by public transport.

The castle & racecourse by the river were lovely, I though areas were a little run-down, but when exploring the town with dogs, you would find those areas. The river walk was lovely, & the town itself was wonderful. We tried to eat in the Pub in town, the barman said we could let the dogs off the leads in the back, but then a young woman told us that we couldn't, this put us off staying for something to eat, which was a shame as the Vegetarian menu looked wonderful.

Langholm is a beautiful town soaked in history.
Langholm is a beautiful town soaked in history. The lovely river Esk runs right through the town. There are several lovely walks in the area, my favourite is round the Duchess's Bridge. There are a few places to eat all very reasonably priced. We had a lovely meal in the Douglas Hotel, the food was excellent, just a small point I felt that the waitresses who served could have been a bit more friendly. I will definately return to Langholm but perhaps choose other accommodation.
We stayed at the Douglas Hotel one night as went biking in Mabie Forest and Newcastleton following day. The host met me at the door of the hotel which was really lovely and took me to the room then went to meet my boyfriend who was parking the car he then showed him to the room and went to the bar to get us a drink each, made us feel very welcome and nothing was a problem. Meal in restaurant was perfect, homemade lasagne and creme brûlée best I’ve tasted! Cannot fault this hotel and very good value for money!
The Crown is an old building undergoing refurbishment, but the bedroom and public rooms I experienced were fine. There are steep staircases. Its new owners are accessible, friendly and helpful. The food is well cooked, well presented and good value for money. Web photos of the hotel frontage don't look cyclist-friendly, however I was comfortable leaving an expensive bike in the secure storage area to the rear, and the owners assured me that improved bicycle and motorbike facilities are on their agenda.
Very comfortable clean and airy bedroom and ensuite bathroom. As cyclists we were able to utilise the hotel drying room which was extremely helpful. We were able to store our bikes securely. Breakfast was freshly made with good quality products. Our hosts were very approachable, helpful and friendly. Langholm is a lovely, relaxing and delightful wee town. We would visit again.
Very welcoming, friendly staff with high quality - mainly traditional - food and a well-stocked bar . The hotel is in an excellent location to explore Langholm and the surrounding area but is also very popular with locals - a very good sign in itself. The atmosphere in the hotel is very relaxing and we were happy to spend some time just chilling with a coffee and newspapers.
A Beautiful lodge located right next to the river ewes. Stunning scenery. The town is part of the Langholm Walkers Welcome Community. There are 14 different walks to venture out on. You get a complimentary basket of wood upon arrival. Loved the wood burner and the underfloor heating was a lovely extra. Rebooked for April 😁
Nice old Hotel, as expected, In town centre. Very nice staff, all happy to help and took the time to chat with us. Lovely full English breakfast. Well done to the chef. Luckily we had good weather and could sit out in the beer garden.
Hotel is in a lovely location and the service, staff and food were all great. Parking is limited in the hotel's own car park, but there is some available in the village. Nice base to explore.
Homemade scones on arrival. Moira is the friendliest host ever 🥰. Located right on the heart of Langholm, with car parking a bonus. Breakfast exceeds expectations.
