Beggars Reach Hotel, hotel in Lamphey

Beggars Reach Hotel is in a pretty, tranquil area, near the village of Burton and close to Milford Haven, Pembroke and Haverfordwest.

The room was pretty large with expansive views over the grounds. It was clean and comfortable with ample parking. It's in a rural location in isolated countryside but nevertheless, not too far by car to Pembroke.

Worse place I've ever stayed. Said bath, this was shared. Not stated on advert. Breakfast included, not stated that it was make your own. This was a hostel not a hotel as the advert stated. Very, very disappointed 😞

Beavers Retreat Glamping, hotel in Lamphey

Set in Manorbier, 8.1 km from Tenby, Beavers Retreat Glamping provides bell tent accommodation with a barbecue for each unit. Free private parking is available on site.

My family had never been camping before, and we live in a flat without a garden, so Beavers Retreat Glamping was perfect for us to experience the fun outdoor elements, such as building fires, using the barbeque, eating outside and soaking in the hot-tub, without really enduring any of the hardships of proper camping. The dome was comfortable and spacious enough for a family of four, while still being cosy in the evenings with warm glow from the log stove. The site is very well set out, with a decent amount of privacy between each dome, but without having to trek too far to reach the toilet or showers etc. Having a private hot-tub, toilet and kitchen is ideal, and there was never a queue for the shared showers or washing up stations. The site is an easy drive to Tenby, and we also made the short trip to Barafundle Bay, which is well worth a visit. Tom, the manager, is friendly, welcoming and helpful, and he came to meet us on our first evening and was often on site. He responded immediately to all my requests. We spent an hour or so in the hot-tub every evening, and this is one of my enduring memories of the holiday, relaxing in the hot water looking up at the stars.

Peaceful place to stay close to lots of beautiful places to visit including the Bosherton Lakes and Broad Haven South Beach. We ate at the hotel restaurant which had good pizzas and vegan options were available. The spa was relaxing with a pool, sauna and jacuzzi.

Terrible. The receptionist was so rude. I didn't bother checking -in. I just left. The reception area was dreadful! Not in keeping with the photos shown of spa, which is in a stand alone new building, quite far from the hotel and rooms. Totally devoid of hospitality. Even though the night was prepaid, I opted not to stay. Most unobliging staff.

Small rural Welsh village community, with pleasant walks to the local pub, old Bishop's Palace, and surrounding countryside. Ideal base for those looking to explore Pembroke itself (literally down the road but far enough from the bustle of Pembroke's narrow streets) and the glorious coastal walks and beaches. Sublime.

The accommodation was clean and comfortable.

The accommodation was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was lovely both at breakfast and the evening meal. We had an afternoon tea which was perfect for us. We couldn’t finish everything so we were asked if we wanted the rest boxed up which was really nice. The pool was good. Same depth for the whole length and if also had a baby/toddler pool which was a nice touch. The sauna and jacuzzi were relaxing but the steam room wasn’t operating as it alternated daily with the sauna.

The staff are really friendly and helpful and the lounge areas really comfortable. However, the breakfast is overpriced, the soaps in the room really smell awful and 'vegan', really! The evening menu is very dated, gammon steak with pineapple in this day and age? The room décor is also very dated and tired. Our bedding was not changed all week but the location is lovely and so quiet. All the local pubs for miles had exactly the same menus as the hotel but cheaper. Go for the breakfast at the farm shop on the way into Tenby, well worth the money but make sure you have an appetite, the full Welsh is massive.

Location was good for visiting the places I wanted to. The hotel is a beautiful building. I liked the fact that my room was quiet and yet with easy access to the facilities. Staff were helpful and it felt ok to be there travelling as a single person.
