This quiet licensed guest house is situated in the hamlet of Kirtlebridge. Located off the M74 motorway, it is 6 miles from Gretna Green and 9 miles from Lockerbie. There is a residents bar.

Very welcoming, homely and spacious. We took advantage of the self catering facilities and bought a ready meal from Tebay services, which made finding a meal simple. We also had a drink from the bar (only open to residents).

The Corner House Hotel, hotel in Kirtlebridge

The Corner House Hotel is located in Annan, 15.4 miles from Dumfries. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. Free private parking is available on site.

Annan is a lovely little town and the Cornerhouse has very welcoming and accommodating staff. Our room was bigger than expected and very clean, comfortable and quiet. We had a large bathroom, also very clean. The facilities include a cafe and bar which we didn't use as we were out most of the day, but the breakfast was lovely. No problems with parking but noting it is behind the pub next door. It has a little local cinema just around the corner which was a fun break from the normal sightseeing. I loved the architecture in the town.

We ate our evening meal in Moffatt before arriving. Alison does not provide evening meals but you can use the microwave in the bar and she will provide cutlery etc., so do a bit of research before travelling. Northbound Tebay services is one of the best in the country.. Do not let the exterior and work going on put you off you will be really comfortable and will get a great breakfast. Very quiet location even though near major road and railway. Alison is a great host and provides service of a very high standard whilst being very warm and most friendly.

Kirtlebridge is a very small place but is situated by Gretna Green and Lockerbie. We stayed here overnight as a stop-off point as we were travelling further up to Scotland. However, we would have liked to stay longer as we felt so relaxed there.

A lovely place to stay, I was made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Everything one could need is provided, the bar is well equipped and the evening meal and breakfast were superb ! Very easy parking and closeness to the motorway mean taking one's car makes driving trouble-free. Will definitely return at the earliest available opportunity.

Lovely home, I say home because that it what it felt like as soon as we opened the door with its calming atmosphere. So much more than a holiday home. Not a problem for us but good to note toilet and bathroom are downstairs.
