Fantastic place, staff very friendly, food amazing
This was an idylic place, if you love solitude. The views all around were beautiful, and our neighbours, (the cows) were a delight. Such curious animals, they came over to welcome us on our first night here.
Self catering throughout, but everything you would have at your own home was available. There was also a cupboard with a selection of books, games, and DVDs should we need them. This part of the world is stunning, and the weather was kind to us.
So much to do and see in the area. Gretna Green is a short ride away, and our favourite eatery, the Gretna Inn serves superb manly sized meals. A trip to the banks of the Solway Firth is a must, as is Moffat which is half an hour away. No visit there is complete without buying some Moffat Toffee.
You are only a short ride away from Carlisle too, and the Lake District isn't far away. For nature lovers, this place has everything. Highly recommended.

We ate our evening meal in Moffatt before arriving. Alison does not provide evening meals but you can use the microwave in the bar and she will provide cutlery etc., so do a bit of research before travelling. Northbound Tebay services is one of the best in the country.. Do not let the exterior and work going on put you off you will be really comfortable and will get a great breakfast. Very quiet location even though near major road and railway. Alison is a great host and provides service of a very high standard whilst being very warm and most friendly.

Kirtlebridge is a very small place but is situated by Gretna Green and Lockerbie. We stayed here overnight as a stop-off point as we were travelling further up to Scotland. However, we would have liked to stay longer as we felt so relaxed there.

A lovely place to stay, I was made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Everything one could need is provided, the bar is well equipped and the evening meal and breakfast were superb ! Very easy parking and closeness to the motorway mean taking one's car makes driving trouble-free.
Will definitely return at the earliest available opportunity.

Lovely home, I say home because that it what it felt like as soon as we opened the door with its calming atmosphere. So much more than a holiday home. Not a problem for us but good to note toilet and bathroom are downstairs.
