Balhousie Farm Bed and Breakfast, hotel in Kirkton of Largo

Located in Upper Largo on a working farm, Balhousie Farm Bed and Breakfast features B&B accommodation sitting in a garden with a pond. Free Wi-Fi and free private parking are available on site.

An excellent, clean and tidy farm b&b run by a very friendly and helpful hostess. Whilst set at the end of a long largely well maintained approach road, access was straightforward and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. The breakfast was excellent, with the relatively rare inclusion of duck eggs (presumably from the local ducks evident, but not intrusive, from our bedroom window) and Lorne flat sausage. Overall, highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Peat Inn. We ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was excellent, as were the staff. Probably the best nights sleep, and a very comfortable matress, we have ever had! Breakfast served in our room was a nice touch too. Would highly recommend!

Lomond Guest House, hotel in Kirkton of Largo

Offering a garden and quiet street view, Lomond Guest House is located in Leven-Fife, 27 km from St Andrews University and 27 km from St Andrews Bay.

Wonderful little guest house in Leven-Fife, with access to nearby shops and amenities. Right next to the sea with a 30 second stroll to a beautiful view across th water. The service was fantastic as Carrol di a wonderful job of settling me in and accomadating an early breakfast after driving up from Birmingham. Lots of street based car park space, very quiet rooms, warm, great light but great options for shutting out the light for a decent nights sleep. Overall a great experience, and excceptional value for money, with great service as well.

The Monturpie guest house was the highlight of our stay but the whole area east of Largo is stunning. Little working fishing villages along the coast are beautiful. St Andrews is most interesting with lots to see and do. Particularly enjoyed the castle. A day in Faulkland is worthwhile, also a visit to Scotland’s secret bunker. So much more to see, we shall be back.

Small quiet village but as I have a car it was a great base for visiting Dundee about 20mins drive & St.Andrews was about 12mins drive away. Lower Largo is 5mins away with a lovely beach & there you will also find the Robinson Crusoe statue & a lovely cafe beside the beach which does lovely scones. We also visited Anstruther & had a delicious fish supper at The Wee Chippy which had won an award for its fish & chips every year since 2020.

Our first time in Fife and this was the perfect location to base ourselves in. There's a lovely beach in Lower Largo and St Andrews is only about 20 minutes away. Outstanding fish and chips from Anstruther!

The beach at lower Largo and the walk from the car park (...

The beach at lower Largo and the walk from the car park (where the toilets were open) to the local pub (The Railway Arms) where you could get a lovely cool drink. Also I would recommend the Upper Largo Hotel for a meal (all within social distancing COVID 19 guidelines). We also visited the national trust gardens nearby (Kellie Castle and Hill of Tarvit), the gardens at Kellie Castle were beautiful and whilst I was advised that staff had been furloughed these gardens were well maintained, gardens at Hill of Tarvit were not quite as well maintained but given the current circumstances this was understandable.
