Dundonald Links, hotel in Kilwinning

Situated in Dreghorn, 18 km from Ayr Racecourse, Dundonald Links features accommodation with a fitness centre, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

I was quite surprised that we hadn’t booked a hotel but actually lodges on a golf course as it isn’t very obvious on Booking.com. From the outside the lodges don’t look tremendously impressive but on the inside it is a totally different story! The rooms are extremely spacious and bathroom is exceptional with a huge walk-in shower which was very powerful and immaculate. The view from the lodges is not fantastic as they have built an embankment of grass in front of the windows. I think to protect you from golf balls from the neighbouring golf course. The room had everything that you would expect very high classroom to have nice flatscreen TV Wi-Fi, fridge coffee machine hairdryer etc. Everything in this place is top quality and I couldn’t fault it. The staff are very friendly and helpful and because this isn’t Hotel they don’t have check-in after 7 pm. You have to collect your key from up in the bar upstairs which is absolutely stunning. It’s mainly used as a golf resort and for golfers to stay over but I would definitely recommend coming here. Apparently, if you come with a big group they have a lodge that is a whole building that has I think six rooms in it and it has its own private swimming pool in the middle and TV lounge You also have use of an absolutely beautiful, sauna and steam room although if you are a couple you’re going to be disappointed because there’s one in the ladies part and one in the gents part and there’s no mixed sauna and steam room. The one thing I would really like this place to have is a swimming pool as they have plenty of space to build one and I have a mixed sauna and steam room and even a Jacuzzi would be nice. Plenty of parking.

Kilwinning is my fathers home town and i spent a lot of my childhood growing up their . we were in Kilwinning for an ashes internment. as it is my second home i have a number of favourite places for visiting. The Mother Lodge , home of Scottish free masons. The Abbey ,the tower and its grounds. The perpingo prize ,the silver arrow in the town library. A walk along the river Garnock. Do not forget your early morning rolls from the towns bakery.

A small historical town needing a bit of TLC, but perfectly situated for getting around a beautiful part of Scotland. Just off the A78. An excellent place to eat is the Corner House, delicious food, reasonably priced. Good taxi services, I don't know about public transport.

Eglington Park is stunning. The Abbey amazing. I’m sure there was much more to see but we were only there for an overnight stay. We will definitely go back even if it’s just to enjoy the hospitality at Nethermains House. Thank you so much Margaret you are an Angel with invisible wings 🥰

I arrived at hotel at around 23:00. just to be informed by staff member that they closed hotel as they got problem with water pipes. I sked if i can stay as it was to late to find anything else but they say no. all fone BUT nobody inform me about that before my arrival and i had received confirmation wiht all the details from booking.com. This night i could not find anything else as there was not enough time and hotels near by been full, I ended for whole night on train station. Thank you Taylor`s Hotel!! :/

Do not go here expecting hotel luxury, it is a guest house and is run partially in support of the local school. The room was good for the overnight stay which I had booked, a bit small, but then there was only me. En-suite was newly installed, wi-fi was really strong and breakfast was as I would eat at home, nothing spectacular but prepared me for my return drive. I had an evening meal which was fresh produce and good value.

Family run business was made fell Very welcome compared to most hotels who just judge you on one look very attentive and a great value for money if I'm completely honest they could easily charge an extra £10-£20 per room also I just add there food is exceptional especially the steak pie witch my partner had tonight's in a row

We were only staying one night as we were attending a Engagement Party in the hotel and live over an hour away. The staff were great and welcoming. Room was nice and cosy with a kettle, tea and a few wee biscuits. The bar is also reasonably priced if you like a drink whislt you stay.
