The Croft Place of Architectual Interest, hotel in Killin

Boasting water sports facilities and views of mountain, The Croft Place of Architectual Interest is a bed and breakfast set in a historic building in Lochearnhead, 36 km from Lake of Menteith.

We didn't have the breakfast as we left very early in the morning but the yurt itself was lovely and the bed was comfortable. However I would not have chosen this property if I had known I would be sleeping in someone's garden!

Killin is a lovely riverside village with the famed Falls of Dochart, a regular feature on calendars. It is rural but gives easy road access to many areas of Scotland from Oban, Fort William, Stirling, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perthshire not to mention the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park

    Beautiful scenery, quiet location.

Beautiful scenery, quiet location. The falls of Dochart are stunning. Well worth a visit to see them. There is also a golf course in Killin with stunning views of the surrounding area. Tucked away in the woods of Killin across from the cemetery you will find the ruins of Finlarig Castle which dates back to 11th century, also well worth a visit.

We stay here often, as its dog friendly and have always found it a nice place to stay, with friendly staff. Any problems, you only need to ask. Meals are good and fairly priced, as are the prices at the bar. Looking forward to our next stay.

It is situated in an area where it is within travelling distance to Loch Lomond. Oban, Glen Coe and Fort William al places we like to visit. We ate dinner at The Luib Hotel on our arrival and it was excellent. We visited several other hotels and cafes and they were all good establishments. The staff at The Luid are always ready to answer any questions we had regarding places to visit. They are very helpful and the atmosphere they create in the lounge is unbeatable.

Location in Killin was excellent, pubs, restaurants and shops very close by, the building is older and it is furnished and decorated in a very local country house style which works very well. The owners are very friendly and full of local knowledge for walks and local points of interest. The breakfasts were stunning, all locally sourced produce and the owner (sorry I forgot your name , but remembered that you were Swiss!!) Makes all her own breads, jams and yogurt, amazing 🤩

One of the best B & Bs I’ve stayed at. Monica and Roman offer a welcoming and generous hospitality, and there’s a very good feel about the place. The rooms are nicely decorated, very clean, and comfortable, and the breakfasts are superb with plenty of options to choose from. The house is well situated within easy walking distance of the town centre and walks along the banks of Loch Tay. We used Dall Lodge County House as a base for a fishing trip, and will be back again.

The atmosphere of this hotel is quite charming. As the hotel has their own pub in the facilities we enjoyed a nice dinner (burger was exceptional) and drink. The parking is easy and the hotel is located in a beautiful area surrounded by nature. Despite being adjacent to the road, we hardly notice the scarce traffic. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast (full scottish breakfast) was good and prepare to order.

We liked the setting of the lodge with views of the surrounding hills. We very much appreciated the hosts, who spent time telling us about the area, their experience and recommendations, and certainly Robbie's excellent cooking, both breakfast and dinner. We had a nice hike directly from the house as well as from Killin, which was also had good places to eat.

Friendly and helpful customer service. The room was clean and had a nice view, and the bathroom seemed recently remodeled. The hotel had a nice location on the river, and was less than a mile from the big waterfall in the middle of town.

The house is in an ideal situation in the village. This is a truly beautiful house and was perfect for our family get-together, which consisted of 6 adults and 4 children. The bonus of the games room and large garden.
