Mansfield Castle Hotel, hotel in Inver

Built in the late 1870s, this imposing Victorian building is set in 3 acres of picturesque countryside only 5 minutes from the town centre of historic Tain.

We slept well, and the room was comfortable enough. The hotel was in a quiet area of town, even though it was opposite a high school. The style of the building from the main road would raise your expectations on approach.

It is quiet, but there is only a pub, which does not serve evening meals every day. There are no shops. All the buildings are similar and rather drab in appearance. You had to go by car to get anything.
