Nice popular village with lots of walks in the area and a few you can do right from your door.
It also has 2 good pubs both of which do nice food (booking very muchrecommended). The village shop is excellent and seems to sell almost anything you could need.
The baps (I'd call them cobs being from Leics) are particularly nice and good value.

Very pleasant small village, perhaps a bit "touristy", but not surprising considering its location. Small and very easy to walk round. Free street parking in centre, but I think there is a pay parking area. Two pubs/hotels. We avoided the Charles Cotton due to our experience on a previous visit. Enjoyed the other one, but can't remember its name. Pleasant small cafe, which is also local Post Office - lovely ice cream!! Well-stocked village shop.

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Devonshire Arms following a fantastic day at Chatsworth. While the hotel isn't conveniently located next door, the drive is acceptable. The Devonshire Arm is located in a he charming village setting.
The room, we were pleased with its layout and size. It had a nice ambience and provided ample space for us to relax and unwind.
The hotel is om the middle of a lovely, quiet village, right on the cosy historic town square with good access to great walks in the beautiful surrounding countryside. Good bar with excellent beer, nice staff and cosy atmosphere
The staff were wonderful, attentive, and helpful. The hotel and gardens are beautiful, peaceful, and we felt very welcome during our stay. Really appreciated the complementary packed lunch on our day of departure.
