The location was close enough to the town centre to be able to walk in a reasonable time. The view from the hotel room across the water meadows was delightful.

The main sleeping area in the family room (Room 10) was spacious and the bed comfortable.
The staff were very apologetic and helpful when we had to complain.

Friendly, welcoming - let us drop our car off in the morning and check-in in the evening.
Franco’s is a lovely restaurant. We were able to order just pasta dishes and a drink when we checked-in at 8.00 pm.

Accommodation was competively priced for Long Melford. The room we stayed in was spacious with an en-suite and a comfortable bed. Bar service was very courteous and efficient. Great atmosphere. Nice and airy dining room. Cooked breakfast was excellent.
Sleek design is coupled with period charm at the Lavenham Great House in rural Suffolk. This 5-star hotel and restaurant provides stylish rooms with free Wi-Fi and a complimentary decanter of sherry.

we didn't get to sample the full breakfast as we were away early. we did get some granola and oat milk the night before to have in our room - which helped stave off the hunger for a while. Many thanks for arranging this for us.

Quiet village but you must visit nearby Lavenham and Long Melford.
We chose Scutchers and the Hare in Long Melford, The Swan at Lavenham and the Henny Swan by the River Stour to eat. All were well worth the visit with great food, great service and value for money. We loved Lavenham Falconry and spent 1/2 day with their birds of prey experience. This was just 20 minutes from Glemsford.

Location is close to famous Long Melford and its many pubs and restaurants. There are two historic Tudor mansions on your doorstep and you are about an hours drive to the Suffolk coast. Quiet location and not much within quick walking distance so need a car to get around. However, parking is easy on site.

Amazing little find.
Amazing little find. We felt so comfortable and at ease and didn’t want for anything as it was all supplied. The hosts are lovely and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was fabulous and we had full tummies before we reluctantly had to leave. We will definitely be back and will most certainly recommend to everyone

Glemsford is an attractive village and is very well placed for visiting historical towns and villages. Long Melford is a five-minute drive away and offers an exceptional range of eating places, with a beautiful National Trust property and an outstanding church (one of only 18 rated 5-star by Simon Jenkins in his review of 1,000 English churches) at the edge of the village.
We stayed here on the 21st July for 2 nights and it was wonderful, Doug and Kay were perfect hosts, they couldn't do enough for you. Our room was immaculately clean, the bed was so comfy and smelt so fresh and clean. Breakfast is delicious with lots of choice. Would recommend to anyone as a great place to stay. They left us a card and chocolates in our room for our Ruby anniversary which was a lovely surprise. The village of Glemsford is just a short drive from Long Melford, Clare and the lovely Lavenham so great for sightseeing.
Excellent breakfast beautifully served in our own dining room so we could eat and read the papers in peace - no requirement to make polite conversation as the occupants of the other room had their own very nice breakfast room- this was a big plus.
Lovely building and wide ranging gardens with places to sit, Our hosts were kindness itself and we shall definitely rebook, perhaps for the larger suite on the ground floor as the access is easier. Kay and Doug ran their own hotel for many years and they know hospitality inside out.
Everything, without exception, was excellent. This is by far the best bed and breakfast we have stayed in. The rooms are exquisite and the breakfast would put a five star hotel to shame. We are already planning our return but will request the four poster bed suite next time
It compared to staying in a 5* hotel. Every little detail thought of and provided to make our stay comfortable and luxurious, from dressing gowns, toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was an absolute delight as was the view.
An absolutely brilliant stay - thank you! - and this is the only hotel / BB review to which I've awarded 10/10 throughout. A truly faultless experience and a stay we'll long remember.
