Easy to find on the outskirts of town. Good size bedroom with space to put things down. Local people were using the restaurant in the evening, which is always a good sign; we were very happy with both evening meal and breakfast.

There was a good choice of options for breakfast. The presentation, menu choice and standard of food at dinner was of a high standard and certainly appreciated and enjoyed by both of us.

Location was great. Spacious and facilities great. Lovely kept garden area. Bedrooms had enough space and two bathrooms. Plenty of hallway space for our bikes. Kitchen had everything you needed, lots of choice. Plenty of parking.

Entrance to grounds is through a Gatehouse,we couldn't see any signage to indicate direction to hotel on our visit. Hotel itself is very elegant with lovely interiors with period furniture and ornate ceilings. Extensive garden grounds with lake and golf course. Rooms huge . Whole hotel was very well decorated as far as I could see.

Gatehouse of Fleet is my favourite holiday break.
Gatehouse of Fleet is my favourite holiday break. Galloway lodge serves fantastic coffee and food. Gatehouse has scenic and relaxing walks. Cream of Galloway is a must to visit for walks, activities and delicious ice cream. Friendly town with lovely shops - Bluebell Interior Designs and Apothecally are great for ideas.

Comfortable and welcoming cottage with everything we needed.
Comfortable and welcoming cottage with everything we needed. We loved the space, and the decor which included a lit Christmas Tree, and the kitchen was well-appointed and had a dishwasher too. The welcome pack had delicious cookies along with excellent tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and milk. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable...everything was spotless. We had easy walking access to local shops and delicious food choices. Our hostess was helpful and available...she provided a well-written book to answer our questions.
We highly recommend this cottage and would welcome a return someday!

The property was exactly as shown in photos and described.
The property was exactly as shown in photos and described. It was lovely and clean. All kitchen items were M&S and the decor was gorgeous. Everything you could want was there and the layout was excellent for spending time with family and friends. We could all really relax and there was plenty of places to walk from the house and it’s only a few minutes drive to the A75 making it an excellent location. A great place to go is to the red deer park, take carrots and apples to feed the deers. Castle Douglas has lots of lovely shops and kipford has a lovely walk too. If you stay indoors they Great technology including smart Tv and nest heating controls and a lovely hot tub. The property is lovely and warm and has a wood burner too. Kitchen fully kitted out including dishwasher, washing machine and a lovely big cooker and oven. Definitely recommend and would definitely stay again in a heartbeat. The hosts were also communicative before arriving and very helpful. Lovely charming gem of a place.

What a fantastic location, secluded and set back from the main roads, as you drive along the road to the hotel, it opens out into an open parkland area with a previous palatial home/ hotel conversion.
Dining is 5 star quality as we had a beautiful evening meal overlooking the woodland space at the rear of hotel.
Breakfast is self service ( as it should be for breakfast) and there is plenty choice.
Rooms are large with high ceilings, furniture may be a little dated and not for all tastes but it suits the overall decor of the hotel.
The location on a hill meant we had a good view of the sea. The cabins are Individual so there was no noise from people running up and down hallways like you get in a hotel. The cabins also have there own boiler so you could regulate the temperature. The cabin was a lovely size, very comfortable, the bathroom was big with a large shower. The bed was very comfortable too. Plenty of tea and coffee etc and a pint of milk in the fridge. The decor is unique in each cabin, ours was The Burrow.
Keys were in an obvious place, and owner directed us to property. Profile of this property doesn't do it justice in images. Amazing unspoiled views for the cottage out across the hills. Quiet and tranquil and outstanding super fast wifi. Spotlessly clean, and very well equipped. Walks straight from property out onto open fields and only 10 mins walk down hill to Gatehouse of Fleet. 10/10 on all fronts
The superior room was huge and exceptionally clean. It has lots of light with large bay windows. The bathroom was excellent. It has a very big walk in power shower and a beautiful modern bath. It looked brand new. Super king bed and large wall mounted tv. It is a very short walk to the Main Street of Gatehouse of Fleet. Lovely breakfast both mornings of our stay.
Everything: the cottage is simply wonderful, furnished with everything, ideally clean beyond expectations, located on the hills just above Gatehouse of Fleet (2 min drive, 5 min walk) with an open view on the sea coast. Peace, nature and a true feeling of being in Scotland! Special thanks to the house owners for their generous and kind reception..
Gatehouse of Fleet is a beautiful quiet location, and the Ship Inn was a wonderful place to stay. Our room was spacious, modern and clean - as were the public areas of the hotel. Breakfast was tasty and there is plenty of on road parking outside the hotel. Loved it.
We had one of the superior rooms and it was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel is nicely set in the lovely village of Gatehouse of Fleet, which looked beautiful on a sunny day. We had dinner at the hotel which was good as was the breakfast.
The cooked breakfast was exceptional. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location suited us for where we were as we were attending a wedding in GG's Yard. The place was near a few other food spots. The room was nice.
The Cally Palace is a lovely hotel. It could be updated but the decor in the rooms has been maintained so it doesn't feel unloved.the communal areas are magnificent.the rooms are enormous and the beds generous.
Lovely little hotel in a great location in gatehouse of Fleet. All the staff we met were really friendly. Room was immaculate and had a nice modern feel to it. The breakfast was also very tasty.
This was the best hotel we stayed at our whole vacation! Beautiful rooms with unique decor and lots of details that made our stay comfortable. Excellent staff, lovely meals, walkable location.

Gatehouse of Fleet is a modestly sized village, and very quiet as a result. The local facilities were excellent however, with everything we could want. We ate out at two of the village pubs.
spotlessly clean, hotel like rooms, welcoming owners, well cooked and varied breakfast options, quiet location and parking a few steps away.
would definitely recommend.
What a lovely place to stay, great pub, marvellous food and excellent staff. We look forward to coming back soon. Gatehouse of Fleet is wonderful, lot's to see and do.
