We had a large room with a fabulous view over the harbour, we watched a beautiful sunset. The food in the bar was very good, breakfast was good and the location fantastic.
It takes a while to get there, but it's worth the effort.
It takes a while to get there, but it's worth the effort. It's a great little hideaway. The cafe, The Hive and pub, The Harbour Inn, are both welcoming and reasonably priced. There's plenty to visit in at least three directions within a thirty minute drive. Sunrise and sunset are both quite special

Garlieston is a lovely quiet place to visit. There is a pub which serves food and a small cafe. There is no local shop so best to take supplies!

Friendly locals.
Friendly locals.
Great pub in the village - The Harbour Inn - lovely pub staff, make you feel at home.
Beautiful scenery and wildlife.
The nearby Kilsture wood is fantastic for wildlife (deer, red squirrels and woodpeckers, amongst other beasties) and really tranquil.
Galloway House beach (Rigg Bay) is huge and the in the warmer months, the shallow nature of the bay allows the water to warm up a bit more - great for paddling in.
