Fantastic area with lots to do.

Fantastic area with lots to do. It was busy with visitors, so planning ahead will help. Pre-booking for dinner is a good idea. We stayed in Anstruther which is lovely. Had dinner at The Bank, which was excellent. Queued for takeaway at the famous Anstruther chip shop - very good, but perhaps overrated in our view. Roads are quite small, but there is no need to rush anywhere.

There are so many places to go.

There are so many places to go. There are miles of unspoilt beaches. Although you have to be careful where you go as there were dead birds from Avian flu at the West Sands at St Andrews. Leven beach was clear and Tentsmuir also. There are so many things for the active. Plenty of culture to be found all round. You are so central for Dundee, Perth and Edinburgh. So much history everywhere. The East Nuek villages are so beautiful and the fresh fish on the menus to die for.

St Andrew’s is a lovely town for a short break.

St Andrew’s is a lovely town for a short break. We were very fortunate with the weather for late March and had a great time one afternoon at the excellent beach. There are many excellent hotels / restaurants and bars in the town and most of them cater for family groups like us ( 4 adults and a 2 year old). My wife and daughter had a great time on a shopping afternoon in the town and they were very pleased with the quality and variety of shops in the town centre. We did not play golf but the town is renowned for some world famous courses and there are a number of golf shops around the golf links. I did some walking and there are some good paths around the beach and golf course areas which are suitable for all levels of fitness and experience.
