Very quiet, not a lot of choices for eating out.

Very quiet, not a lot of choices for eating out. Local pub, the Village Inn not very welcoming.. went in with kids for food but were abruptly asked if we had booked & turned away because a quiz was on for the locals. Largs 5 mins away, Saltcoats 15 mins away.

I think the only thing I would suggest would be clearer check in information although we figured it out. We went to the shop and went from there. I did have to email to ask about firewood, crockery, fridge facilities. But that was all sorted with a prompt email response. All good.

Fairlie is a little village just south of Largs and with a lovely beach on the bay - with views of the power station and Great Cumbrae. There is a friendly local pub, the Village Inn, with good outdoor garden space serving pub favourites. It's possible to take a little trek to Largs taking in the marina and the Pencil, commemorating the Battle of Largs.

Peaceful little spot with a sandy beach literally at the bottom of the garden. Comfortable, welcoming apartment with everything we needed for a couple of days away from it all. Short drive to Largs where there are so many good places to eat it was very hard to choose. There is a petrol station with a Londis a 2 minute walk from the apartment and a pub as well. Lots to do in the local area too.
